Today we’d like to introduce you to Amany Youssef.
Hi Amany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My parents came to the United States as refugees during the war from Lebanon when I was 5 years old. I dreamed of being a doctor, attending the University of Florida as a pre-med student, and earning a bachelor’s in Biology and cell science. I was advanced in taking the MCAT and applying to medical school. Unfortunately, I had to relinquish that dream when terrible family health issues arose, and I was forced to accept an opportunity to begin my career in luxury construction and design. From the first day, I realized my love for designing, building, managing, and just watching a project come to life was my true passion and that it could be my way to help people in a completely different way. Instead of helping them after they get sick, help them build outdoor + indoor spaces that will help them de-stress, double the square footage they can enjoy, and make lasting memories with their loved ones!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road? If not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a woman in a male-dominated field is always joked about but never truly lived. It is truly not for the faint-hearted.
