Hidden Gems: Meet Adam Driggers of Massage Theory

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Driggers.

Hi Adam, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My wife and I have been in the Massage Business for nearly 13 years. We began at Alpha School of Massage on Jacksonville,’s westside where we fell in love with their tuition-free massage program.

The spas are a natural extension of that business. We wanted to provide a place for some of the graduates to work and provide student clinic space to more of our greater community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a great journey but we have had our challenges. Just 5 weeks after opening our Jax Beach store Covid closed us for 8 weeks.

We’ve been impressed with Massage Theory, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Massage Theory is currently two spas that partner with Alpha School of Massage to bring some of the best graduates and students to our communities in Jax Beach and Yulee. Alpha School of Massage has a fantastic program that offers Massage Education tuition-free.

It’s a great program but with only one location students find it hard to commit. That’s where Massage Theory comes in. Students who live North of the school can perform their massage practice at our Yulee location. Students who live east of Jacksonville, even as far away as St. Augustine, can do their massage practice at our Jax Beach location.

Add to that Alpha’s new hybrid program which allows some of the classes to be taken online, and massage school is accessible to a lot more people.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
We have friends in the industry. We seek out people who are where we want to be and we ask for insight. This is sometimes awkward and we sometimes ask ourselves why they would give us the time, but we have found people are generally open to conversations. Make sure you buy if you ask them to coffee or to eat.

Pricing:

  • Massage from a licensed therapist start at $65
  • Student Massage starts at $35
  • Facials start at $65
