Today we’d like to introduce you to Robyn Bratton, ARNP, and Jarica Thigpen, PA-C.
Hi Robyn and Jarica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
The idea for Coastal Mobile Medical Care came from a desire to provide patients with a compassion-driven healthcare experience. Robyn is a Nurse Practitioner who has worked in emergency medicine for 5 years. Jarica is a Physician Assistant who has also worked in emergency medicine for the last 8 years. We met while working as colleagues in an Emergency Room (ER) in the Jacksonville area. We both can see a change in medicine after working in the ER for many years, especially after the pandemic. Not only are the ERs and Urgent Cares overwhelmed with the number of patients they are seeing, but the stress on patients and families waiting hours for treatment is becoming more and more evident. Many of these patients’ concerns can be addressed outside the emergency setting. In addition, patients are paying an exponential amount of money for their co-pays. With all of this in mind, we decided, “why not take the service to them?”
Our idea is to create a valuable experience for our patients by allowing time for the provider-patient relationship, which currently gets lost in today’s practice of medicine. So, our idea grew into what we have now, a business to provide just that – convenient, high-quality, and compassionate healthcare in the privacy and safety of the patient’s home. We are excited to use our medical experience to help serve our community and its healthcare needs!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like all new businesses, this transition has taken a lot of work, dedication, and sacrifice on our part. We both know that we are fully competent in medicine, but learning the business side has been an adventure! However, we are very fortunate that every bump in the road has provided us with another opportunity to continue to move forward with our vision. This has been an unexpectedly smooth transition, despite the hard work and learning something new. We are looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead!

Coastal Mobile Medical Care is a concierge urgent care service that makes life easier by providing urgent care services in the comfort of our patient’s homes; there is no more waiting for hours in the ER or Urgent Care. No more having to take the whole family to the ER and struggling with a busy schedule to be seen for an urgent healthcare concern. We offer urgent care home visits, telemedicine visits, and IV therapy that are convenient for all our patients. During a home visit, our Providers will visit the patient’s preferred location, perform a detailed exam, determine a diagnosis, and develop a treatment plan specific to the patient’s needs. We treat minor illnesses and perform minor procedures for both pediatrics and adults.
The thing that sets Coastal Mobile Medical Care apart from other healthcare services is convenience. Patients struggle to get last-minute appointments with their Primary Care Providers or Pediatricians for acute illnesses like colds and earaches. The only option is going to an ER or Urgent Care, which can take hours out of the day. Our service provides the convenience of staying at home with a sick child or allowing the opportunity to continue to work at the office until the appointment time is scheduled.
Coastal Mobile Medical Care desires to bring a valuable and personal healthcare experience to needy patients. With so much burnout in the fast-paced world today, especially in medicine, we know that genuine service is rare. Our goal is to bring back the foundation of medicine by re-introducing house calls!
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising we think most people may not realize about us is that we both individually have over 10 years of experience in the medical field. Robyn has been in the medical field for 16 years and Jarica for 14 years. Do not let our photos shock you! We both appear very young, so 10+ years of experience may seem nearly impossible! We have experience in varying areas of medicine individually before working as colleagues in the ER. Each of our experiences fully encompasses direct, hands-on patient care. Our overall medical experience has provided us with the opportunity to help patients from many different walks of life. Amazingly, our journeys have led us here to begin Coastal Mobile Medical Care!
