Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Hatton.
Hi Nikki, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I became a trainer from my own personal experience of coping with stress and depression. I was laid off from a job of 7 years and did not know what would be next. For months, I tried getting a job in the field of accounting going on interviews being rejected.
But at the same time coping with the stress of how I was going to take care of my responsibilities financially after the severance and unemployment ran out of course being depressed. I started going to the gym with my sister and then eventually signed up for my own membership. Then it became a routine. When I was stressed or feeling a way no matter what time, I would wake up and go to the gym.
Then God opened the door for me to go back to school I went and finished my high school diploma and then started classes for personal training. I always say this was completely a GOD move not a Nikki move because I never thought about being an independent fitness trainer or being an entrepreneur.
I was told by my pastor at the time that 7 was the number of completion and my job was done there, so he made me uncomfortable to be where my true purpose was motivating, inspiring, and speaking life into people while assisting them with building better lifestyles for their bodies.
My goal is to educate and impact as many people by being healthy, fit, and enjoying healthy, fit treating working out as a chore but for longevity. Training is my ministry. I have met so many amazing people on this journey. When I first started, I was training and doing events for free.
Anyone ask I was there no questions. I wanted to just help. I have been a full-time trainer for 10 years and I am truly blessed. A true believer in writing the vision and making it plain. My slogan is “Don’t stop, won’t stop, let’s get fit!”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not always been a smooth road.
Clients quit, so of course, if I don’t train, I didn’t get paid. Then there is a location I had been a mobile trainer that became a challenge because if we were outside weather may have been an issue, going to gym some gyms didn’t allow outside trainers to train.
Of course, wearing all the hats of business accounting, marketing, training, and prospecting could be overwhelming.
As you know, we’re big fans of Nikki The Trainer, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Nikki The Trainer, LLC is an independent training business I created after going through life challenges. I specialize in body sculpting and building bootees. What sets me apart is that I’m in my own lane.
I don’t worry about what others are doing I just do it. Straight tunnel vision. I would like to say that I am everywhere. I am proud that I was able to build it from the ground and have grown to be known as one of the best trainers in the city. Being fit, healthy, and well should be a lifestyle, not a seasonal thing to just get ready for the summer.
I offer fat loss, rehab, pregnancy fitness, motivational speaking, and teach me how to meal prep. I try and give all the tools to assist with creating a new lifestyle that you don’t have to diet.
What are your plans for the future?
I would like to open a state-of-the-art full gym. Do a lot more speaking engagements and consider moving to another city.
