Exploring Life & Business with Master Life Coach Mechelle Canady of Embrace You

Today we’d like to introduce you to Master Life Coach Mechelle Canady.

Hi Master Life Coach Mechelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
In 2010 I found myself in a very dark and hollow place. I had experienced many things, but never to the level, I was in that year. After being married for 18 years, I was separated and went through a public breakup. But this was just the beginning of my life falling apart. Everything in my life was being shaken up. My teenage daughter was pregnant. I was going through an investigation by the Department of Children and Family. I had just lost my job as an Office Administrator at a prominent law firm. I lived in an apartment alone without my children, sleeping on the floor with only a blanket and a TV to my name; it was hard for me to believe that this was how my life had turned out. I was suffering from depression and a failed suicide attempt, and a functioning alcoholic. I felt like I had absolutely nothing to live for. Living in another state with no family or friends nearby, I felt so alone. I remember sitting on the side of the bed one morning, thinking that I must have a purpose if I am still here. I decided that I wanted to be a support for anyone going through what I had survived. The hardest part of going through it was feeling like I had no one I could depend on. I wanted to start a support group for women and be a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. So, in 2013, I started a group on Facebook and named it “The Next Chapter 4 Me” because I wanted to help women know that just because this chapter in your life closes doesn’t mean your life is over. Let’s figure out “what’s the next chapter in my life for me.”

2014, I moved back to Jacksonville and started all over. I started on a journey to create a new narrative for my life, children, and grandchildren. In 2014 I started dating the man of my dreams, and in October 2015, Cedric Canady Sr. and I start a new life together as husband and wife. Cedric taught me how to love and trust again. This relationship gave me a new lease on life. I continued to grow as a wife, mother, and person.

2017, I decided I wanted to help people in a greater way. In June of 2017, I became certified as a Life Coach, and in July 2017, The Next Chapter 4 Me Consulting, Planning and More LLC was launched. I published my first book in November 2017, titled Frozen 3A’s My Journey to True Forgiveness. Since then, I have also co-authored 3 additional books. Helping others is my passion, and now I can help other authors publish their books independently with my new publishing company C-Sharp Publishing. I became a Master Life Coach and Certified Trainer (2019) and launched Embrace You Training Solutions, a comprehensive training company focusing on building custom curriculums. Embrace You Coaching is the subsidiary that certifies Life Coaches and Executive Trainers. We have certified over 90 Life coaches since 2019. I have also earned myself a reputation in the life coaching sector as “Mrs. GetU2Gether” because of my style of telling the truth in love. I am an Author, Publisher, Talk Show Host, Blogger, blogger, Podcast Host, and Mentor. My dedication to helping people become their best versions.

As a passionate Master Life Coach and Change Agent, I am on a mission to Impact, Impart, and, Empower as many people as possible and ultimately create positive change that will continue transforming lives for future generations. I deeply believe that every one of us possesses infinite potential, and when we harness that potential, the possibilities are truly endless. My heart desires to leave a legacy that impacts generations and creates generational wealth by being a World Changer.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
From 2010-2014 I struggled to put my life back together after a very public divorce. My daughter became a teenage mom at 15 and almost lost custody of my 3 children. I turned to alcohol to dull the pain. After being a pastor’s wife, that was the last place I thought I would find myself. I struggled with depression and sugar addiction for years due to the level of trauma I experienced. I struggled with suicidal thoughts, and I had a failed attempt at suicide.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Embrace You?
Embrace You has become my brand. I have several businesses and organizations that fall under the brand. We specialize in teaching you how to coach yourself and utilize your success, tools, and resources to coach those you are called to. Embrace, You Ministries is a church we launched in 2021 that my husband and I pastor. Embrace You Cares Outreach- is a nonprofit organization we started in 2021 to assist with bringing coaching, training, and life skill workshops to the underprivileged. Provide them with life skills to help them function in society and give them the tips, tools, and resources to become productive citizens. Sit Down Let’s Talk Show, hosted by Coach Mechelle aka Mrs.Getyou2gether, streams on Roku on the Lit TV Network.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
In one of his messages, Myles Monroe said that you should be able to sum your life’s purpose up in one sentence. For me, that one sentence is “my purpose is to be to others what no one was to me” I have several trues I have learned to live by:
1. The way you do one thing is the way you do everything ~ Iyana Vaszant
2. What you don’t measure, you can’t manage ~ Pastor Mike Todd
3. Where there is a lack of resources, there is a lack of relationship ~ Bishop TD Jakes
4. We thrive in tribe ~ Coach Mechelle
5. If you build it, they will come; if you build it right, they will come back, and if you build it intentionally, they will keep coming to ~ Coach Mechelle
