Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Baughman.
Hi Mark, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We opened up our first office in June of 2014. We wanted to create a PT company that was part of it’s community where people felt known and cared for, and a place that gives back to its community.
From the very beginning of our existence we have been overwhelmed by the support of the local physicians and community partners that have trusted us and helped us grow. After our first 2 years of existence we had already outgrown our first building and so we moved into a space that was twice as big. After a couple years in our new space, we continued to outgrow that so we opened up our second office in south Jacksonville near the Nocatee and Bartram Springs area of town.
We have now grown to 9 PT’s in 2 locations and are looking to expand further in the very near future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been anything but a smooth road. As clinicians first, both Rob and I had to quickly learn what it meant to run and operate a business. Over the past decade, many of our most valuable lessons have come through mistakes and hard-earned experience.
Between opening our doors and where we are today, we also navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic as a small business. We’re grateful for the support and guidance of the American Physical Therapy Association Private Practice Section, which played a key role in helping us move through that uncertain season successfully.
Growth has brought its own challenges as well. With expansion comes inevitable growing pains of staffing transitions, technological upgrades, and an increasing administrative load as our team has expanded. Each phase has required us to adapt, refine our processes, and continue learning as leaders.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy practice specializing in post-operative rehabilitation, sports-related injuries, and the everyday orthopedic aches and pains that keep people from doing what they love.
What truly sets us apart is our commitment to individualized care and genuine connection. Our goal is simple: no patient should ever feel like just a number. From the front desk to our billing team to our physical therapists, every member of our staff is intentional about building personal relationships — not just treating diagnoses.
Our physical therapists are highly trained and specialized in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, holding ourselves to the highest clinical standards. We believe that exceptional outcomes come from a combination of clinical excellence and strong relational rapport. That commitment to both quality care and meaningful connection is what continues to drive our growth and reputation in the community.
What’s next?
We plan to begin the process of opening a second clinic by the end of 2026, expanding access to care and creating greater opportunities for patients to receive the treatment they need.
