Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Diehl.
Hi Madison, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Being in the position that I am in is a true blessing. No one really understands what goes on behind a business or building your brand. From doing everything the right way legally to the sacrifices, the stress, and tears to finally being able to bring your dream career to your everyday reality. I started my journey by attending Alpha School of Massage in the esthetics program.
It took me eight months to complete school since I was part-time and working full-time in a call center. Two months into school I was blessed with finding out I was expecting a baby boy making me seven months pregnant graduating from esthetics school. After having my son, I did not want to go back to working a 9-5 so I decided to stay home awhile which I was not used to so eventually I ended up putting my facial specialist license to use.
I had always wanted to work at a waxing center and that was what my interest was in until I went to school and grew to love skincare and more. I started working from home and created my guest bedroom into a beauty room and soon learned that’s not what I wanted for my clients and myself even though you have to start somewhere! I decided to take a lash extension course to add under my belt as to I wanted to be skillful in numerous things.
After getting lash extension certified, I took a leap of faith and decided to do booth rental at a beauty salon which helped me to grow in a different environment. I once started with one client and it amazes me at the support I’ve had I once was new and learning things day by day on how to be professional and run a business. If anyone knows me they know I always strive for more. I hated to settle for something that I knew wasn’t my own destiny or where I truly wanted to be in life.
I went from booth rental to going half and half on a beauty salon with a business partner and did that for two years. This was a great opportunity for me to grow clientele, learn how to individually run a business, learn from my mistakes, toughened me up to what the real world really is like, and opened my eyes to a lot of things that would help mold me into a better businesswoman for the future with a different approach on life with a better mindset.
I am a firm believer of everything happens for a reason and things are either a lesson or a blessing. Out of nowhere, an opportunity fell into my lap that I knew I couldn’t turn down. No matter how hard the decision was I felt in my soul that was my calling and what God had planned for me. I had the opportunity to purchase my very own commercial business building. Fast forward to probably the most stressful and hardest ten months of remodeling and construction, I opened my very own day spa.
I have worked so hard to be where I am and I couldn’t have done it without my family, the amazing clients that have supported me from the very beginning and have been with me through my mistakes, growth, and have witnessed my skills evolve into the esthetician I am today. I’m so humbled and grateful to have my own and be in the environment I have wanted myself, my clients, and the amazing women I have at the spa! Being able to create an amazing foundation at the spa gives me every reason to go harder in all that I do.
Watching all of us grow together as a work family warms my heart to the fullest and brings me so much peace and happiness! I still grow day by day. I still strive for more and try my best to be different. I want my spa to be a home away from home and for people to get a wonderful experience they will not forget! A place to be yourself, feel relaxed, enjoy some “me” time and be in a healthy nonjudgmental environment.
A client’s experience and my reputation are everything to me and being able to make everyone that walks into my door comfortably, pampered, and more confident is what gives me gratification. I have a special bond with every one of my clients and am so thankful for all the beautiful people I have met along the way. I couldn’t ask for a better group of girls that stand by my side at the spa and I am so excited to see what the future will bring.
I know so many great things are yet to come because I lead myself with ambition, determination, love, and passion! I am building a better future for myself and my family. I’m just a normal person that pours my heart and soul into what I love and lets my work and passion speak for themselves.
You have to create the life you want to live. Never give up because nothing worth having comes easy!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think anything is really a smooth road. You’re going to have the ups and downs and the trials and tribulations. I myself am my biggest critic and very hard on myself to where I feel like I always need to be doing more. I am my only competition.
I’ve learned in this industry there is so much room to grow individually. There is no such thing as perfect. The beauty industry is amazing to be in as long as you’re surrounding yourself with the right people. People that are all about wanting to see you win. Being genuine and being happy for your come up’s. It should never be “ I want to see you do good, just not better than me.”
So learning to surround myself with people who have a similar vision and are just as motivating was an eye-opener also for me. There is enough success out there for everyone to have some. Naturally having fear and doubt in things has been a challenge to deal with also because I’m a huge perfectionist so I always feel like I can do better.
I don’t give myself enough time to just rest but I’m just simply doing the best I can and what’s meant to be will happen. What’s for you will always be for you!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see my business blooming into a very successful and healthy business.
I myself plan to grow individually by teaching others who want to be in the beauty industry and helping to guide them the right way. I plan on my spa to keep and maintain a professional reputation, added services down the road, and for everyone that works there to grow as their own individual business and services.
I plan on all of us to gain clientele, satisfy every client that walks in, and always be booked, busy and blessed!
