Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Sated Ventures Travel was born out of covid – when the whole world slowed down, I decided to thrive instead. The result is a boutique tour operator that specializes in private curated tours to 40 countries around the world. Our core mission is culinary anthropology – to connect guests to the culture through local food. Tastings, hands on classes, breaking break with indigenous communities, surprise picnics and touches, peppered throughout with top restaurants and chefs. You will see all the highlights – but you will come home sated.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
After 18 years of creating luxury experiences, my biggest recent challenge is finding others as passionate about the product as I am. I have trained over 100 sales consultants, and my motto is “Never aim to make a sale. Aim to build a relationship”. Sometimes this takes time, and consultants get frustrated. The travel industry is a long term commitment, not a hobby. It is definitely not for the faint of heart, but the excitement of doing something new every day is what keeps me going since 2006!
