Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Lee.
Hi Hannah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From a young age, I was told I had to get a medical job to succeed. My parents gave me an amazing upbringing but wanted me to have more. I am an RN by trade and have always LOVED helping others. During nursing school, I got the opportunity to stay home with my son. To make extra money, I began researching and started my own “Country Creations,” a farmhouse home décor and furnishings business. I fell in love! I loved the creative side of building the website and the freedom it gave me to be with my son. I began to see what it took to run a successful small business in terms of marketing as well. Unfortunately, I didn’t stick with it at that time and instead started a medical office job working 8-5 again. In my head, I had done all this medical schooling, and everyone was cheering me on for that. I couldn’t let it go to waste. I continued with this until BAM, the pandemic hit, and layoffs were being discussed. It was almost as if God told me, “Now you need to start NOW!”. I had no choice! Cut my hours at my office job, and I jumped on the opportunity to start building out my dream, Synovial Marketing.
My goal for Synovial Marketing is to help my community, small businesses, and small business owners worldwide make the most out of their companies. Everyone has great ideas, but the team at Synovial Marketing wants to make even your wildest business dreams a reality visually and financially and sustain them for years to come.
My team of creative and technical business experts and I aim to sit down with businesses to hear their goals and aspirations and help them achieve success in all facets. From logos and web design to business and SEO strategy, Synovial Marketing has your back and wants to help you succeed.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
Being a single mother, working a full-time 9-5, and starting up a marketing agency was one of the hardest things I have done so far. It has been a challenge! In the beginning, I stayed up till 1 or 2 in the morning finishing up website designs, managing client accounts, and sneaking on my lunch breaks at 9-5 to call and have a client meeting.
I knew this agency would grant me freedom and flexibility so that I would not have to be the mom who missed every function and school event, working nights and weekends. I knew the beginning would be tough as starting most things are, but, in the end, we have overcome so much as a company and are continually growing and evolving! Now that I have a team and we have broken into the business world in Jacksonville and made connections and friends, it is much easier. Granted, you will still see me wrangling my 5-year-old around some networking events because I couldn’t find childcare, but I am very proud of what Synovial Marketing is today and the struggle and late nights that brought us here.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Covid taught me that things could change in an instant. When people were on lockdown, everything turned digital, and no one could see anyone in person. We all started using Zoom, and social media became a necessity. Digital assets made sense.
People were staying home more and buying online, which meant that companies wanted to enhance and refine their social media strategies, advertising, and websites. Before companies relied on in-person networking and consultations, they now had to turn to Instagram reels for reach and webinars.
As a marketer, I am thankful that people had to turn more towards a digital way of life because I feel like amazing marketing really became valued. Companies began to understand the power of marketing strategies and how even in times of recession or Covid crisis, if they had a good solid marketing strategy, they could succeed and still succeed.
