Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Jozsa.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Cookies by Crystal AI really started as a hobby and over time developed into more of a small business. My family and I moved from Ohio our home of 35 years to Fort Myers, FL in 2014. From 2016-2021, I owned 3 brick and mortar, boards, & brush franchises in SWFL. In 2021, our family moved to Amelia Island for my husband’s job at Baptist Health.
I had known we were moving for 2 years prior to moving and started to really take my interest in baking and cookies more seriously. During COVID, I decided to enroll in several online tutorials and classes to enhance my skills. After moving to Amelia Island and getting settled, I decided to start sharing a bit of the work I have done with my cookies.
With my experience of owning my franchises and my love of baking, I thought I would give it a shot of offering my cookies in my new town. It is a perfect mix of art, creativity, and baking all rolled up into one!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So far it has been smooth sailing. I met the creator of Amelia Social for lunch when I moved here and she really gave me the push I needed to take the next steps. I was a little hesitant as I just finished running 3 businesses and wanted to take a bit of a break. Once an entrepreneur though always an Entrepreneur.
It is pretty hard for me to sit still for too long, it didn’t surprise me that I took the leap so quickly after moving here.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Cookies by Crystal AI?
I own a small at-home bakery specializing in custom sugar cookies. My sugar cookies are custom-made to order and are decorated in the theme chosen by clients.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be when I was 13 years old. I took a train from Ohio to Chicago to spend a few weeks with my uncle and his family. I read the book, Rebecca, on the train as it was summer reading for school and I can vividly remember this time in my life as a very happy one.
