Hi Courtney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Shaken & Stirred by CourtneyKCo started from a love of hospitality and a desire to create experiences that feel personal, polished, and genuinely fun. I began bartending years ago in fast-paced sports bars and private country clubs, where I learned how to read a room, work efficiently under pressure, and provide great service no matter the environment. That foundation gave me a deep appreciation for both the technical side of bartending and the guest experience side — which is just as important.
When I began freelancing for private events, I quickly saw a gap in the market for bartending that felt elevated but still approachable. People didn’t just want someone to pour drinks — they wanted a bar experience that matched the tone of their event, felt seamless for their guests, and took stress off their plate. That’s where Shaken & Stirred really took shape.
Over time, the business grew through word of mouth, referrals, and consistent five-star experiences. What started as a solo venture has evolved into a trusted local brand with a growing team, customizable packages, and thoughtful add-ons that allow clients to truly personalize their events. Today, Shaken & Stirred serves weddings, private parties, and corporate events throughout Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, St. Augustine, and beyond — always with the same focus on professionalism, reliability, and creating moments worth remembering.
I’m proud of how far the business has come, and I’m even more excited about where it’s headed as we continue to expand our offerings and build a team that shares the same passion for hospitality and exceptional service.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall I have been blessed to not have many challenges although I am truly just at the beginning of my business and the growing pains have not hit me yet. I feel like I have prepared myself for challenges and struggles by collaborating with other women small business owners, creating a supportive community of like-minded people who I can use as a sounding board or go to when I have a challenge.
The one struggle I have endured since starting my businesses is being a military spouse and moving every 3 years. It’s extremely challenging building such strong relationships with clients and other businesses and then having to pick up our whole life and move to a completely new place where I have to start all over again. Luckily I have done the work to make strong connections where we have lived that have helped me form new connections in these new places but it is still hard to do. I leave a piece of my business everywhere we live, which I am working on leveraging through opening segments of my bartending business in these cities to continue to grow in that way.

What makes you happy?
My family is my greatest source of joy and motivation, but I also find deep fulfillment in bringing happiness to others — whether that’s people I love or someone I’m meeting for the first time. I truly believe that when you lift others up and lead with kindness, it creates a sense of purpose and fulfillment that carries through every part of life.
I take great pride in the life I’ve built as a military spouse, a mother to two young children, and a partner to an incredibly supportive and loving husband. They are my heart and my foundation, and everything I do — both in my business and personal life — is driven by a desire to lead by example. I want my children to see what it means to be compassionate, confident, hardworking, and grateful for the opportunities and experiences life offers.
