Hi Cassidy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Our journey began with a simple love for dogs and a desire to create something meaningful for them. I’ve always been passionate about the health and well-being of pets, and after seeing how many commercial dog treats on the market were filled with artificial ingredients and preservatives, I decided to take matters into my own hands. What started as experimenting with recipes in my own kitchen for our pup Hazel, quickly turned into a mission to provide dogs with treats that were not only delicious but also healthy and natural.
As I shared my homemade treats with friends and family, the positive feedback was overwhelming and it wasn’t long before I realized I had something special on my hands. After hours of trail and error baking, getting our logo designed and sourcing our packaging, we started small, selling locally at farmers’ markets and over time, the demand grew. Now, we’ve expanded our reach and are proud to offer a variety of treats online, at markets and in local shops, all while staying true to our commitment to quality, sustainability and health.
Looking back, it’s been a journey of learning, growth, and a lot of love for dogs. We’ve come a long way, but what drives us every day is knowing that we’re making a positive difference in the lives of pets and their families. I’m proud of what we’ve built and excited about the future of the business!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Owning a small business comes with its fair share of challenges, many of which can test an entrepreneur’s patience and resilience. One of the biggest hurdles is managing limited resources—whether it’s time, money, or woman-power—while trying to grow and maintain the business. Small business owners often find themselves wearing multiple hats, from handling customer service to managing marketing and finances, all of which can be overwhelming. Additionally, staying competitive in a market dominated by larger companies can be tough, requiring constant innovation and adaptability. Cash flow can also be unpredictable, making it hard to plan for the future or invest in growth opportunities. Despite these challenges, the rewards of running a small business—like the satisfaction of building something from the ground up and the flexibility it offers—make it all worthwhile for those willing to face the obstacles head-on. Despite the obstacles, we are very thankful we get to wake up every single day getting to do what we love.

I love hearing from customers who share stories about how my treats have become a special part of their dog’s routine. Knowing that I’m contributing to their pets’ well-being and happiness makes all the hard work and late night baking worthwhile. It’s the little moments—like seeing a dog enjoy its first treat or getting feedback from a loyal customer—that remind me why I started this business in the first place.
