Today we’d like to introduce you to Astin Hunt.
Hi Astin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Astin Hunt started Hunt Wildlife Services in 2015 because he truly loves people and loves animals. He wanted to start a company to serve people by solving any problems that wildlife cause the Jacksonville community through humane and effective approaches. The goal from day one has to be the most humane, thorough and comprehensive wildlife service company to serve
North Florida. We’ve quadrupled in size/production since then, but remain an intimate team of four.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our business really has been blessed, We’ve been able to avoid many of the difficult stories I’ve heard from other entrepreneurs starting a new businesses. We’ve managed to remain debt free and experienced about 21% annual growth over the past decade. That being said, the road hasn’t been without its bumps. Clients expect fast results while chasing wildlife is by nature unpredictable. Being a Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator is actually a highly specialized and kind of weird profession so between having the skill set coupled with our company’s high standards of humane trapping makes onboarding challenging.
These factors have contributed to us remaining a small intimate team of four. We maintain our 5* reviews and personal relationships, which makes bring growth minded secondary, and consequently challenging at times.
As you know, we’re big fans of Hunt Wildlife Services. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Hunt Wildlife services specializes in humane, thorough and comprehensive wildlife services for Northeast Florida. We serve our community by solving nuisance wildlife problems as humanely and efficiently as possible.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Seek out a mentor that is somewhere that you’d like to be, and be prepared to regularly ask them specific questions. Don’t expect mentorship to fall into your lap. You have to be a proactive participant in your own growth.
