Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Moses.
Hi Allison, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I joined Row House about four years ago as a part-time coach while working full-time in healthcare, mostly because I loved fitness and the energy of the community. After COVID, I was laid off from my healthcare role, which turned out to be a pivotal moment for me. It gave me the push to fully lean into what I was most passionate about-coaching, leadership, and building community through fitness. I moved into a full-time coaching and management role and quickly realized how much I loved shaping the member experience and developing the team. When the opportunity to become the owner came up, it felt exciting and very full-circle. I officially took ownership in April 2025, and I’ve been all-in ever since, growing the studio and the community we’ve built.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing worth having is ever a smooth road, is it?! Adapting to a life-consuming role has its challenges. I’m learning to find the balance between personal and work-life. I think that’s been my biggest challenge. There is always work to be done. While I LOVE working, I have to turn it off sometimes to take care of my family.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Row House San Marco is more than a fitness studio. It’s a community-first brand built around connection, confidence, and sustainable strength. We offer coach-led indoor rowing and strength training that’s low-impact, highly effective, and accessible to all fitness levels. While rowing is our foundation, what we’re really known for is the experience: intentional coaching, welcoming energy, and a space where people feel seen, supported, and challenged in the best way.
What sets us apart is our focus on people over perfection. Our coaches are deeply invested in our members. Our programming is designed to meet individuals where they are regardless of being brand new to fitness or seasoned athletes. We prioritize inclusivity, results, and authenticity, and that shows in the culture we’ve built. Members don’t just come to work out; they come to belong.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the community we’ve created. We celebrate wins big and small, inside and outside the studio, and we consistently show up for one another. From themed workouts and challenges to partnerships and local events, our studio is woven into the fabric of the neighborhood.
What I want readers to know is that Row House San Marco is a place where fitness feels empowering, not intimidating; where strong bodies, strong relationships, and a strong community are built together.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
At my core, I’m someone who believes deeply in doing the work and showing up consistently. I’m very hands-on in the business. I coach classes, support my team, connect with members, and stay closely involved in the day-to-day operations of the studio. I’ve worn every hat along the way, from coach to manager to owner, to sales associate, to janitor, and that experience shapes how I lead.
What matters most to me is building people, not just workouts. I’m passionate about creating an inclusive, welcoming environment where people feel confident walking through the door and proud of what they accomplish once they’re inside. Watching members regain strength, confidence, and consistency (sometimes for the first time) is what fuels me.
We’ve created a space where people support one another, celebrate wins together, and genuinely enjoy showing up.
What I want readers to know is that Row House San Marco is not just a place to work out; it’s a place to belong. Everything we do, from the way we coach to the way we show up in the community, is rooted in connection, encouragement, and helping people do hard things together.
