Hi Adam, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Southside Outdoor Services started in 2022 with a truck, some tools, and a vision to fill a gap in Jacksonville’s landscaping market. I aimed to create a local, professional, and trustworthy service amidst indifferent corporate companies and unreliable individuals.
Initially, I managed everything mowing, phone calls, estimating, and running every other aspect of the business. With Jacksonville’s growth and residents proud of their homes, quality service was in demand.
We focused on landscapes that thrive in Florida’s climate, using heat-resistant plants, suitable sod, and proper drainage solutions, all paired with year-round maintenance plans. This attention to detail fostered our reputation.
Now operating from our office in Neptune Beach, we’ve grown into local landscaping experts while preserving our small business values, caring for every yard and customer personally. Our goal is simple: to help people enjoy their outdoor spaces, and this is just the beginning.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. I’ve lost everything and built it back more than once, and that’s kind of part of being an entrepreneur.
One week early on, my helper quit, my truck broke down, I went through a breakup with the person I was living with, and suddenly I had nothing but a few tools and my work. It was one of those moments where you either quit or keep going, and I chose to keep going.
Landscaping will test you. Weather, equipment, labor, and cash flow are always throwing curveballs. That week taught me how to stay resourceful, calm, and focused no matter what hits.
That mindset is a big reason Southside is still growing today. We’re built to handle the hard stuff, not just the easy weeks.

Southside Outdoor Services is a Jacksonville based landscaping company focused on building outdoor spaces that actually work in Florida’s climate. We handle everything from design and installs to full service maintenance, but what we’re really known for is fixing the problems other companies leave behind like bad drainage, dying sod, and plants that don’t survive here.
What sets us apart is that we don’t do cookie cutter landscapes. We look at the sun, the soil, the water flow, and how people use their yard, then build something that lasts instead of something that just looks good for a few weeks.
Brand wise, I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built locally. Most of our business comes from referrals and repeat clients, which tells me we’re doing something right. We want to be Jacksonville’s go to local landscaping experts, not just another lawn company.
When someone hires Southside, they’re getting a real local team that shows up, communicates, and takes pride in the work.

What matters most to me is building something real and lasting. I want Southside to be a company people trust, not just another landscaping business.
Doing right by our customers and our team is huge for me. We show up, we do what we say, and we stand behind our work.
