Daily Inspiration: Meet Trey Vollmer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Vollmer

Hi Trey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It’s a miracle that one sperm like me would make it to Earth in the first place. Nothing I do in life will compare to the miracle of my existence. Unless my life points to the author of life and miracles.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My lows in life have come from struggling to get something that wasn’t for me. My highs in life have come from being grateful for what I already have.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are all unique, and we all have different strengths and weaknesses. I think getting to know, understand, and appreciate each other leads to the best work. Talent is easy because you can’t turn it off. What are you thinking? How are you feeling? How can I help make sure everyone’s on the same page, and eager to do good work? These things come first, and then hard work and talent.

I hope I can help create things that cut through the superficial clutter of life, and take a deeper look at what we ignore or don’t see.

I am a freelance Director and Director of Photography!

What were you like growing up?
I was super short. I used to pray hard every night to get to 5″7″ which was a long shot. My best friend, Alex, had an older brother who was full-grown at 5″7″ and he still seemed pretty cool. I’m 5″8″ today and hopefully an inspiration to my short son. Growing up in Texas I had some great friends that were all big kids. They matured fast, deep voices, hairy, the whole nine. We used to play lots of basketball outside in the summer while blasting gangster rap from a boom box. For some reason, my friend Chris had a neighbor named Red, who had a 30-foot whip, and he would stand in his front yard cracking his whip. We were pretty used to that, I guess. We just kept playing.
