Today we’d like to introduce you to Three Generations Catering.

We are dreamers who made our dreams come true by recreating the Lowcountry Cuisine we love. That’s our motto and how we were trained in the kitchen by the late (Mrs. Ethel Mae Lisbon). Our company believes that our customers’ needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business are repeat customers and referrals. Repeat and New Clients are always welcomed! We look forward to servicing all Clients.

Meet The Chef:
Chef Devola Mixon came from humble beginnings in the Low Country of South Carolina. Chef D started early in the kitchen with her Grandma, Late Mrs. Ethel Mae Lisbon. She shared all of the family recipes , which she never really measured anything! We used our eyes and tastes buds for measurements in the Low Country!
Chef D graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a Culinary Arts Degree (AA in Science) in 1996. After graduating from college, Chef D worked  with a group of Chefs for the 1996 Olympics preparing cuisines for the Sponsors in the Centennial Park! One of the highlights of my career! Over the years I’ve worked in corporate to provide for my family. After years of working for others, I decided it was time to bring my vision to fruition!
We started Three Generations Catering in 2009. We are female minority owners. Family means everything to us, and we serve our clients by the same token.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’ve had many obstacles in our way like many others. We use the power of prayer and faith to get through our worst days. If anything, the pandemic made us much more wiser and made us look at our business more closely. We never stop striving to reach our goals to success.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Three Generations Catering & Events and 3GC Luxury Picnics. We cater all things events , corporate, wedding reception, bridal parties, brunches, luxury picnics, meal planning,  birthday parties and more. We also offer Pop-Up Restaurants, Private Chef Services, Travel Services, Etc. We’re looking forward to new ventures and growth with Team 3GC.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Our favorite childhood memories are all the same, cooking with our Grandma and Mom on Saturday night for Sunday Dinner. Growing up in a very large family and my Mom ( Marcella) being the Baby Girl out of 16 kids, allowed us to learn how to cook for the masses! We had to always cook food for our big family and friends. It was inevitable and we became hooked on cooking for loved ones for all family events and holidays. We were taught to cook with Love!
