Daily Inspiration: Meet Tamy McNamara

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamy McNamara.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Tamy McNamara. I moved to Ponte Vedra Beach from San Clemente, CA. In 2001. I got involved in my community immediately, volunteering at the mission house. That is where my love for the people of the beaches started.

I have made many friends in this industry here and after opening my own salon in 2017 my goal was to not only help my clients feel beautiful with their regular services but also help them through life’s wear and tear on our hair and scalp.

Then ultimately build a platform in the memorandum of my son, (Troy Michael) to be able to give back to the community. That lead me to Trichology. I will be hosting my first fundraiser in February 2023 for Child Cancer Fund.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve done this for a very long time. Thirty-six years.

At times, it is smooth at times there are struggles but I absolutely love what I do and the people I do it with, it makes the struggles just part of the work just as much as enjoying the smooth parts.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We create hair dreams through all forms of hair manipulation.

We care for clients’ health of hair and scalp. We also wear many hats from therapist to cheerleader. Our favorite is the culture we built within our salon. A place you can go to truly be cared for during your services.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I have many exciting things coming in 2023. I mentioned our fundraiser in February. We are adding a custom wig designer. We are looking forward to 2025 transitioning into a very unique Trichology Center.
