Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Caughey
Hi Samantha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Tuli Floral Co. with the flower cart in 2020 to learn more about flowers, designing, and as a fun hobby for the weekends. We began at a small farmer’s market in Orlando, and have been bringing the flower cart to farmer’s markets, small businesses, and weddings and events/private workshops since then! We expanded into a full wedding and events floral company within our first year, but there’s always something special about getting out into the community, and watching people design their own bouquets and arrangements. I especially love hearing when someone sees a flower on the cart that reminds them of when they got married, had kids, or any other special event in their life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout the four years now that Tuli Floral Co. has been alive, we have had to move (to different cities) three times. Moving in itself can be difficult, but moving with your small business brings it’s own challenges as well. Luckily, we have always landed in supportive, uplifting communities full of kind, friendly people. Rebuilding the brand numerous times has been challenging, but it just means that we now have friends and supporters of Tuli throughout all of Florida- and even outside of it!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
The Tuli Flower Cart is so so fun! We bring it to farmer’s markets, art markets, small businesses, coffee shops, and it’s also available for rent as a photo backdrop or bouquet station (usually at bridal and baby showers)! When you rent the cart, guests are able to build their own bouquet and take it home as a favor. Because the cart is mobile and compact, we are able to bring it inside to escape from the heat and rain, but we can also bring the awning and keep it outside as well!
Tuli Floral Co. is also a full service weddings and events company that has been voted Best of Weddings by The Knot, and Couple’s Choice by Wedding Wire. A few key words that come to mind when describing our design style are whimsical, organic, free, dreamy, lush, and garden. We don’t design anything super structured, we like it to feel like the flowers have movement and are free to dance.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I love seeing how our flowers and deigns bring joy to others! Whether it’s a stem at the cart or a bridal bouquet for a wedding, nothing is better than seeing someone’s face light up while holding our designs. Flowers bring joy to people on their saddest, and most joyful days and I’m grateful to be a small part of that.
