Omari J. Brooks, a talented young actor from Savannah, Georgia, is quickly making a name for himself in the entertainment industry. Born on June 25, 2010, Omari’s passion for storytelling ignited at a young age, and by the age of nine, he was already pursuing a career in acting. His natural talent and dedication have already led to impressive roles in films such as Spooked, Living Trees, and Teacher Interviews, showcasing his versatility and commitment to his craft.
In addition to his acting career, Omari is also an entrepreneur. I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a young actor hasn’t been an easy journey. It took years before I was able to get signed by my manager, Kim Matuka of Schuller Talent. Even then, the struggles didn’t end there. The audition process itself is tough — you can go to a thousand auditions and still not land a single booking. The industry can be really challenging, but we keep pushing through, one step at a time.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an 14 year old Actor and business owner, having produced films like Living Trees and Teacher Interviews, where I also starred in both. You can also catch me in Amazon’s new TV series Clean Slate. I’m signed with an LA-based manager and currently auditioning for major roles in both TV shows and films. The journey is exciting, and I’m ready for what’s next.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is riding my bike from sunup to sundown during the summer, just soaking up every moment of the break. It was all about the freedom and fun. I also loved the family trips to Florida every summer—those vacations were always something to look forward to.
