Daily Inspiration: Meet Mignyon Warren

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mignyon Warren

Hi Mignyon , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My interest in fitness started back in high school. Although I studied something different in college, I always enjoyed being active and learning more about nutrition. In 2012, I was living in Minnesota at the time and wanted to go back to work part-time now that both my boys were in school. One day, I stumbled across a job posting for a youth fitness coach with a company called Stretch-n-Grow. I interviewed, was hired as a coach and loved teaching kids about eating healthy and exercising. I worked there until 2015 (for the owner of that franchise ) when we relocated back to Florida. I loved the job so much that my husband and I decided to purchase a franchise for me in 2016 and the rest is history. I have five zip codes in St. Johns County, I work here in Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee, St. Johns and St. Augustine. In 2017, I decided I’d love to start teaching adult fitness classes. I then went on to get a few adult certifications and now I teach adult fitness classes in Ponte Vedra Beach. Finally, I recently expanded my adult business by getting certified as a fitness and nutrition coach with a virtual program called the FASTer Way to Fat Loss. Now, I am able to coach men and women all over the country on their fitness and nutrition journey by teaching them all about whole food nutrition and how to exercise more effectively. I’ve been part of this program since 2022 and became a coach last year.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would say it’s been a mostly smooth road. Like any new business, it’s always a challenge in the beginning to get your name out there and build a reputation as a good, solid business. However, if you show up, work hard and do what you say you’re going to do then the word typically spreads quickly. The pandemic certainly made it tough as I lost absolutely all of my business at the time. That was tough for everyone! During that time, I started teaching via the Zoom app which is where my interest in becoming a virtual coach started. So, like most hard times, I learned something from it and in the end something great came out of it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a certified youth fitness coach, children’s yoga instructor, an adult fitness coach and a certified food and nutrition coach for the FASTer Way to Fat Loss. In my children’s classes, I work with them on building cardiovascular endurance as well as muscle development, hand/eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills. In my adult classes, I specialize in strength training and High Intensity Interval Training ( HIIT). With my work with FASTer Way, I coach men and women virtually through a course which teaches them all about how to lose weight, shed fat, build muscle and there’s a big focus on nutrition. Although I coach men and women of all ages through that program, I do have a passion for coaching ladies in their forties and fifties as they enter into the perimenopause and menopause years.

I am really proud of all my work to be honest. I love how it’s expanded organically over the years so that now I feel like I can make a difference in the lives of others regardless of age!

I feel I am different from others because of my background, experience and education in the fitness industry. I love that I work with people ages 2 years to 80!

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my husband of 28 years, Scott, and my two amazing sons, Logan (24) and Lucas (20).

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Picking one favorite childhood memory is tough but I guess I’d have to say it was my family’s annual trip to the Smoky Mountains. I loved the excitement of planning for vacation and also loved the mountain views, eating out, seeing bears and lightning bugs!
