Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Benjamin.
Hi Luke, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I came to Jacksonville 7 years ago to be the pastor of a church called New dimensions. After 2 years, we decided to close the doors and renovate our building and reopen as Revive church. We’ve been open for over a year and a half and since our relaunch we’ve been able to feed thousands of children in Jacksonville and provide toys and clothes during Christmas time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. We shut down during covid and our renovation budget was overblown due to the rising cost of shipping so we had to put the renovation on hold for over a year.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a pastor. I specialize in introducing people to a relationship with God where they find peace and joy in a way that they’ve never had before. I am most proud of being able to reconcile people with their creator which allows them to reach their potential.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk taking is necessary to reap great rewards. Shutting down and renovating a church is risky because there’s no guarantee that the restart will work. But since we’ve taken that risk, we’ve seen many different lives impacted.
