Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Mckeefery.
Hi Jessica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began my career in healthcare with a deep desire to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives. Early on, I realized I was drawn not just to treating illness, but to helping patients optimize their health, confidence, and overall quality of life. That passion ultimately led me into men’s health — a space where I saw a real opportunity to break stigma, have honest conversations, and provide proactive, personalized care.
Throughout my journey, I’ve worn many hats — clinician, leader, educator, and advocate. Each step helped shape my approach to medicine. I’ve always believed that healthcare should feel approachable and empowering, not intimidating. Building strong relationships with patients and creating an environment where they feel comfortable discussing sensitive concerns has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
Today, I’m proud to be in a position where I can combine clinical expertise with leadership and business growth. Watching our practice expand, helping patients regain confidence, and mentoring team members has been incredibly fulfilling. What started as a passion for patient care has evolved into something bigger — building a model of healthcare that prioritizes access, education, and results.
The journey hasn’t always been linear, but every challenge has reinforced why I chose this field. I’m motivated daily by the impact we make and excited about continuing to grow, innovate, and elevate men’s health in our community.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road — and I actually think that’s what makes the journey meaningful.
Healthcare is demanding in every sense — emotionally, mentally, and operationally. Early in my career, one of the biggest challenges was learning how to balance being a compassionate provider while also stepping into leadership roles. Medicine teaches you how to care for patients, but it doesn’t always teach you how to build a business, lead a team, or navigate the operational side of running a practice. That learning curve was real.
Another challenge has been working in men’s health specifically. There can be stigma around discussing topics like hormones, sexual health, or weight loss. Building trust with patients and normalizing those conversations required patience, education, and consistency. There were moments where growth felt slow, and we had to work hard to build credibility in the community.
There have also been the everyday entrepreneurial struggles — staffing changes, scaling responsibly, managing risk, and making decisions that impact not just patients, but your team. Leadership comes with pressure, and I’ve had to grow into that responsibility.
But every obstacle strengthened my confidence and clarified my purpose. The challenges pushed me to become more resilient, more strategic, and more grounded in why I do this work. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade the difficult seasons — they’re what shaped the practice and the leader I am today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Nurse Practitioner and the chief clinical officer at Gameday Mens Health in Jacksonville, Fl. I specialize in men’s health, with a focus on hormone optimization, sexual wellness, metabolic health, and performance-based medicine. My work centers around helping men feel like themselves again — whether that means restoring energy, improving body composition, addressing erectile dysfunction, or optimizing overall longevity and vitality. Our practice specializes in testosterone replacement therapy, weight loss, erectile dysfunction, and peptide therapy.
What I’m known for is taking a comprehensive and individualized approach. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all medicine. Every patient receives a personalized treatment plan based on detailed labs, lifestyle factors, and long-term goals. Beyond the clinical aspect, I’m also known for creating an environment where men feel comfortable having conversations they may have avoided for years. That trust is something I value deeply.
I’m especially proud of the growth of our practice and the culture we’ve built. We’ve created a space that blends medical excellence with approachability — where patients feel supported, educated, and empowered. Seeing patients regain confidence in their health, relationships, and careers is incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is the balance between clinical precision and genuine connection. I care deeply about outcomes, but I also care about the experience. I stay current on evolving therapies and treatment protocols, while making sure we never lose the human element of care. I approach this work not just as a provider, but as a leader committed to raising the standard for men’s healthcare in our community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t necessarily believe in luck in the traditional sense — but I do believe in preparation meeting opportunity.
There have absolutely been moments that felt like “good luck.” Being surrounded by supportive mentors, having the opportunity to step into leadership roles, and entering the men’s health space at a time when conversations around hormone optimization and preventative care were becoming more mainstream — those were opportunities that aligned well with my passion and skillset. But I also worked very intentionally to be ready for those moments.
At the same time, what some might call “bad luck” has often been my greatest teacher. Staffing challenges, operational hurdles, difficult business decisions — those seasons forced me to grow quickly. They sharpened my leadership skills, strengthened my resilience, and clarified my vision. In hindsight, many of the obstacles I once viewed as setbacks were actually pivotal turning points.
If anything, I’ve learned that luck favors consistency. Showing up every day, doing the work with integrity, building strong relationships, and staying adaptable has mattered far more than chance. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had, but I’m even more grateful for the lessons that shaped me along the way.
