Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica McCrary.
Hi Erica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a young girl, I watched my mom do hair and makeup for magazines, photoshoots, even America’s Next Top Model.
I always enjoyed being her assistant never imagined being a makeup artist but it came to me so naturally and the more I tried to convince myself that this wasn’t my purpose I realized how wrong I was. So eventually, I gave in and accepted my calling. Today, I’m a professional makeup artist specializing in wedding artistry and soft glam makeup. I am also a certified semi-permanent makeup artist.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been an easy journey.
Managing a full-time job in auto finance while building a brand it wasn’t easy finding that life-work balance but when I did, things began to move smoothly and with ease. Business was great I was building new and larger clientele and then the pandemic happens. I felt discouraged I was on such a high-reaching goal moving at a fast pace and it all just slowed down instantly.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a makeup artist, my goal is always to enhance natural beauty.
I’m known for my flawless nude glam. A soft bronzed warm face with sultry eyes using matte neutral tone eyeshadows. I’m always proud to be a part of someone’s special day knowing that my talent gave them a boost of confidence, to look as special as they may feel. To be a part of what will be a memory for most.
What sets me apart from others is a willingness to go above and beyond for my clients building a relationship with them so that each milestone worth celebrating is celebrated with a flawless glam from elite beauty not limiting myself to just make up many of my clients ask for my input on fashion, help styling them.
