Daily Inspiration: Meet Dwayne Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dwayne Green.

Hi Dwayne, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. I am a twin, a husband, and a father of two girls.

I ended up graduating high school from William M. Raines and was able to receive a 4-year full-ride scholarship to college. I was so excited to start college but was unsure what I wanted to get my degree in.

Modeling and acting was not something that I thought I was going to see myself becoming apart of because I was so worried about my appearance. As far as my childhood my mom and grandmother took care of me to make sure I was successful despite me losing my father back in 2007. My mom worked two jobs to support me, my brothers, and cousins doing this time. I was 16 years old at the time of my fathers death and I remember it like it was yesterday. He was not in my life as a father was suppose to be for his kids but I still cared for my Dad.

After graduation from high school I immediately started college and moved out my mothers home into my first apartment. I also went from working one job to working two jobs doing my college career. There were days when I will get off work go to class for 6 hours then sleep for 2-4 hours and go to my night job. I don’t know how I was able to pull it off but I did. I ended up graduating from Florida state college of Jacksonville with my associates degree in 2012 and my bachelor’s degree in supervision and management in 2015.

As far as working I’m currently trying the 8-5 life, but I know this isn’t for me. I have always valued my time and can not spend it doing something I do not enjoy. I started venturing into modeling/acting in the year 2020 and I am getting more comfortable with my body image.

My wife/family/friends encouraged me to get back into acting so I decided to give it a shot. Just recently, I received an email back from a casting director asking me to be a part of the season 3 First Wives Club as a background. This was really the first gig that I was paid for even tho I was not in the film I was still excited to be a part of this.

My goal in life is to use modeling/acting to build my social influence and build a fan base to lead to more success and business opportunities such as acting, managing, and influencing others to build their image and follow their dreams.

Five to ten years from now, I can see myself being more financially stable, relocating to a larger city, and continuing to grow as an actor along with enjoying life to the fullest. I will continue to submit myself hoping that one day, I will get that breakthrough that I see coming.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, some of the struggles along the way I will say just trying to maintain these days and times and not give up.

The way cost of living has increase from the prices for food and rent has taken a toll on me financially and being able to provide for my family. I had to go back to working two jobs and it also caused me not to be able to submit myself for auditions or films.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As far as work, I am currently a dispatch coordinator. I dispatch the tow trucks to pick up vehicles involved in accidents from body shops or owners’ homes.

I also do Uber as a side job to help with some of my bills. I am most known for always being the glue in the family to keep everything together. I am most proud of my being able to keep my family together as well as continue to be an entrepreneur by trying to get my own business off the ground. I have some projects in the works that will soon be released in the coming months. Being my own boss is my goal.

What sets me apart from others I would say just me being able to handle the heat when it comes my way while remaining calm.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The characteristics that I feel are more important to my success are my personality, my appearance, and the positive energy that I bring around others. A word from me to everyone “Chase Your Dreams & Never Give Up”
