Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Corsi.
Hi Anna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Saint Augustine, where substance use began in high school and eventually led me down a path of severe addiction, including heroin use and incarceration. At my lowest point, I experienced a profound spiritual awakening and began building a genuine relationship with God—one that completely transformed the direction of my life. Through faith, perseverance, and accountability, I rebuilt what addiction had taken from me. Today, I am married, a mother, a homeowner, and the founder of a nonprofit organization in St. John’s County called Living Stone Outreach. We provide safe housing and support for women facing the same struggles I once did. My life is a story of redemption, restoration, and the power of transformation that I get to share with others to give them hope!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The greatest challenges in my recovery were not only external, but internal—learning my own value after addiction, incarceration, and years of shame. While rebuilding my life, I faced real barriers: a criminal background that limited employment opportunities, severely damaged credit that required years of discipline to repair, and the ongoing work of earning trust. In launching Living Stone Outreach, I also encountered doubt and fear from others, including those closest to me. Yet those challenges sharpened my mission rather than stopped it. Living Stone Outreach was built from lived experience and grounded in faith. What began as obedience and perseverance has become a proven, effective ministry—providing safe housing, stability, and hope for women walking the same road I once did. From ashes to beauty.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the founder and executive director of Living Stone Outreach in St. John’s County, a holistic transitional housing program for women recovering from addiction, incarceration, homelessness, and mental health challenges. We specialize in providing safe, structured housing paired with accountability, life-skills development, and spiritual formation—helping women rebuild their lives from the inside out.
We are known for our relational, high-touch approach: we don’t just offer a bed, we walk closely with each woman through recovery, stability, and reintegration. I am most proud of the lives restored through this work—women who are sober, employed, rebuilding families, pursuing education, and living with dignity and purpose.
What sets Living Stone Outreach apart is that it was built from lived experience. Our model is rooted in faith, responsibility, and transformation, led by someone who has walked the same path our residents are on. We combine compassion with structure, grace with accountability, and vision with proven outcomes—creating lasting change, not temporary relief.
What are your plans for the future?
In the coming year, our primary focus is expanding both access and impact. We are actively pursuing partnerships with donors and funding partners to fully or partially subsidize housing costs, allowing the women we serve to attend vocational and technical schools while living with us. By removing the pressure to work full-time immediately, women can earn trade certifications that lead to stable, living-wage employment and long-term independence.
We are also in the planning phase of opening a second residential home, which would allow us to serve up to ten additional women. The need in our community far exceeds our current capacity, and expansion is essential to meet that demand responsibly. These next steps represent a significant and hopeful season of growth—one focused on sustainability, workforce development, and multiplying the number of women who can rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.
