Hi Aisyah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Our Community Story Our community organization was established in 2021 with a sincere intention to support and uplift families in need, especially refugees who are facing hardship in their daily lives. From the beginning, our mission has been simple but strong to stand beside those who have no support and to provide help in any way we can.
As a non-profit organization, we started with very limited resources, but with strong unity, dedication, and faith. Many of our members are also from refugee backgrounds, so we truly understand the struggles from financial difficulties to language barriers, housing challenges, and access to basic needs.
Running this organization has not been easy. We face many challenges, including limited funding, transportation issues, and the growing number of families asking for help. Despite these difficulties, we continue our work with patience and commitment. We organize support for basic needs such as food, utilities, clothing, and community services. We also help families connect with local resources and provide guidance whenever possible.
Every step we take is driven by compassion. We believe that even small support can bring big change in someone’s life. Our strength comes from the community itself — from volunteers, donors, and kind-hearted individuals who trust and support our mission.
Since 2021, we have remained committed to standing with those in need. No matter how difficult the situation is, we continue to do our best to serve, support, and bring hope to our community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our Challenges and Obstacles Since our establishment in 2021, we have faced many challenges while working to serve our community. One of our biggest difficulties is securing consistent funding to sustain our programs and daily operations. As a small non-profit organization, we rely heavily on donations and community support, which can often be uncertain and limited.
In addition, managing and supporting a growing number of families in need requires continuous effort, patience, and strong coordination. We strive to maintain unity, peace, and understanding within the community, even during times of hardship and limited resources.
We are also running essential educational programs, including ESL classes for adults and after-school programs for children. These programs are vital for helping individuals improve their language skills, succeed academically, and build a better future. However, maintaining these programs comes with challenges such as limited staffing, resources, and operational costs.
Despite these obstacles, our commitment remains strong. We truly believe in supporting those in need and helping individuals transform their lives. With continued support, we hope to expand our services and create more opportunities for our community to grow, succeed, and thrive.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I serve as the Director of Finance and Fundraising for our community organization, where I am responsible for managing financial operations and leading donation efforts. My work focuses on supporting families in need, especially refugees, by ensuring that resources are collected, organized, and distributed in the most effective and transparent way. I am closely involved in donation programs and community support initiatives, helping connect people with the assistance they need. I do not carry a large personal dream, but I hold a strong hope to inspire humanity through service. I have made a personal promise to do whatever I can to help those in need. I believe that even small support can change someone’s life, especially when it comes to education and opportunities for better employment. That belief guides my daily work.
I am most proud of being able to stand beside vulnerable families during difficult times and helping them move toward stability. Whether it is supporting a child’s education, assisting a family with basic needs, or helping someone take steps toward a better job, these moments are what matter most to me.
What sets me apart is my commitment and sincerity. I work directly with the community, understand their struggles, and act with compassion and responsibility. I do not just manage finances I build trust, create opportunities, and stay dedicated to making a real difference in people’s lives.
