Today we’d like to introduce you to Afton & Clark Seiger.
Hi Afton & Clark. We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today. Can you start by introducing yourself?
Texas Sun came into fruition during the height of the 2020 pandemic. With what seemed like an endless amount of time to rewrite goals, dreams and passions; we decided to do something truly for ourselves. The stars aligned and we were able to find a space blocks from our home. We wanted to offer something that was missing and didn’t exist in Florida. Through traveling and working around the world over the years it feels like we’ve been preparing for Texas Sun for forever. We are husband and wife owned and operated. We do not have any employees. We are Texas Sun. This is Texas Sun. We are Texas Sun. This is Texas Sun.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our studio is roughly 700sq feet which meant renovations would be tricky. How could we safely have people in the building painting, laying flooring, and replacing walls and meet the deadline we had set for ourselves? Social distancing would be impossible. There was no way around it, so we did everything ourselves. Talk about a labor of love.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Texas Sun is an Appointment Only studio where we specialize in Luxury Piercing with genuine stones set in solid gold and expert tattooing. We’re Florida’s first brick-and-mortar offering Permanent Fine Jewelry. Solid gold chains are measured to fit the client’s wrist or ankle and are micro welded together. Afton has been piercing professionally for over 16 years. And her piercing has been featured in major publications, as well as runway and red carpet. Clark’s talent and reputation through his more than 14 years of tattooing have allowed him to work worldwide throughout his career. He is well versed in all styles of tattooing, including but not limited to Japanese, Black and Grey, Fine Line, Traditional Americana, and Geometric/Dot Work. Working strictly by appointment ensures each client gets the dedicated time and attention they deserve. With clients traveling internationally and stateside to get tattooed and pierced, appointments are a must.
What matters most to you?
Community matters. Our community and clients mean everything to us. Without their kindness and support, we would not be where we are today. Within our first year, Texas Sun won Void Live’s Number 1 in the 904 while Clark took home the top spot for tattooing the second year in a row. We also won several Best of Jax categories through Folio Weekly. Our community is like no other and has blown us away. Texas Sun is a safe space and welcoming place for all.
