Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Pressley.
Hi Adam, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I had a fascination with video cameras as a little kid. My cousin got one for Christmas one year and never used it, so she basically gave it to me, and that’s where it all started. In middle school, I took a love television production and it kinda just stuck with me. I have a degree in Broadcast Journalism. My dream was to be an anchor on the Today Show. My idol was Bryant Gumbel. As I got more and more into my major, I started to love every aspect of TV and video. I ended up graduating and moving to Miami, where I obtained a degree in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production. Shortly, after Adam Pressley Films was born!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There have definitely been obstacles along the way. Trying to run a business and hold down a job made things very difficult, so something had to go and I think we all know which one was eliminated. But other than that, just learning how to properly run a business and also complete videography tasks has been the biggest struggle.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
So I offer videography and photography services. My specialty is in videography though I am also a good photographer. I am known around the city as the video man, lol. I am most proud of seeing my business evolve. I started out in just wedding videography but now I have grown into promo videos, corporate videos, small business videos, and even some photography. It’s just been a real joy being able to do what I love.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I wouldn’t call it luck. I will say that I am blessed to have people that I have had in my corner once I started this journey. I have some great friends and influences along the way to pick me up when I fell, to guide me back on track and some to just flat out give it to me really when I wasn’t working hard enough. So having all types of personalities in my life really has help mold me and helped construct this business into what it is today.
