Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Williams.
Hi Travis, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Before i started Djing I played the drums growing up in church and also played in the band during my years of high school. I started Djing when I was 16 years old. I wanted to create mashups and overlap songs that went together. My first gig was for my cousin 16th birthday and it started off shaky but ended with everyone having a good time and i decided to continue my journey. I’ve had to DJ for local artist and open for big artist and social media influencers such as Coi Leray, Trap Beckham, Luh Tyler, Kodak Black, Kervo dolo, Druski, and more. Ive created my own platform for local artist to shine called the 2TURNT SUMMER CYPHER which was a success.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s has its ups and downs. From slow nights at the clubs or maybe not getting booked on a regular basis. You have to deal with a lot of peoples emotions. As DJs we control the room so it’s alot put on us when really we have to cater to 300+ people with different personalities and emotions.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Aside from djing, i create content, and I am a producer. Making music that people can dance too, from Jersey type beats, Florida And ATL Bass Music. I am proud of my two 2TURNT SUMMER JAMZ Tapes. They mean the most and another will be coming soon.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Being along side with DJ Savage and DJ Picasso played a huge role as we came up together DJing as a Collective known as Dynamic DJs. Doing events with Rod Gunn with Gunnzz Live Events. And my brother Trae who is a photographer who is always there when i need him for content and photos.
