Conversations with Tim Marley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Marley.

Hi Tim, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I began drawing at a young age, and put down my pencil once I became more serious about sports in grade school. Back in May of 2017 for a Mother’s Day gift. I had some major bills and my art was all I had to give my wife at that moment. That ultimately led me to painting, then fashion design. I wanted to provide an economical way to purchase my art, by printing my painting onto shirts. I’m a self taught designer, and I owe it all to my wife and three beautiful daughters for being my inspiration and motivation. My wife has since then grown an inspiration to be a self taught seamstress and designer. I’m a Gemini (sterotyped as a MANIAC) and my wife, as well as, My first born daughter are Leo’s. Therefore, the creation of Maniac Clothing and our Royal Lion Logo came into fruition. We are a design, printing, and pressing company, based locally in Jacksonville, Fl (Duval).

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. It’s said in order to master a certain field, that 10,000hrs of practice is necessary…
Well Ive put in well over 50,000hrs, Im dennitely great in my art, but everyday Im still learning.. Everyday.. During this time of building this empire, it’s been plenty of trial and error.. From dealing with everyday life, to the rigors of actually taking a business(s) trom the ground up.. BILLS lol, finding balance between business and my family, ever changing economy and trends, make it a ongoing turbulent roller coaster. But I still find it worth pursuing, does that make me a Maniac? lol

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Im an artist/ tashion designer, I specialize in custom painted shoes and clothes… I’m most ‹nown tor my art and clothing brand. Iney ot go hand and hand with each other. I look at my clothes as an opportunity to spread my art as walkable canvases. I’m most proud of seeing my work and the brand, be able to bring a certain swag, a certain joy to those that wear Maniac Clothing throughout the nation.. My motto is “If it Ain’t Different, It Ain’t Us”. I’m an artist first, so every set, every design I drop is a representation of my perspectives.. My ideologies, motivational quotes, and beliefs… Rather than just slapping
something on a Tshirt because it looks good..
Every thing I make has a different meaning behind it and that’s what sets Maniac Clothing apart.

Any big plans?
