Conversations with Terica Slaughter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terica Slaughter

Hi Terica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My first trip I planned was a weekend with my friends to Atlanta for my birthday. There was a complete itinerary of what we doing and eating at every time. From that moment on, planning and sharing recommendations became my ‘thing’. Friends and family have always reached out to me for advice on traveling or things to do and see in my hometown and beyond.
Stepping into content creation started as just a way to share these recs with everyone at once. I do it because It’s something I actually enjoy. However, once I did take it seriously, things quickly started to take off.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always uncomfortable moments when stepping into a new space, growing pains so to say. I won’t say that there have been any struggles because I don’t look at them as such. Anything that doesn’t go a part of my envisioned plan is a necessary part of the journey.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Lifestyle and Travel content creator. My specialty is in sharing little known but amazing food spots, fun activities or things to do with a little fashion sprinkled in. Currently, I’m most known for my food reviews. My review on a small black owned business in Jacksonville went viral on Instagram, and the rest is history.
I pride myself in creating authentic and relatable content, which encourages individuals to try new adventures, foods or fashion. What I believe sets me apart from others is the truth. If I don’t like something or feel like something should be improved, I share that with my viewers. You won’t catch me lying for views or a check ! LOL

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Stay motivated and remember your passion. When you’re doing what you love or enjoy, it’s hard to be discouraged or have feelings of giving up. Don’t aspire to be anything just for fame or recognition, do what makes your spirit smile!
