Conversations with Rabbina Banks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rabbina Banks.

Hi Rabbina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My husband and I moved to Jacksonville in 2019. He’s retired USAF and I’m a USAF Veteran. My military career was cut short due to disabilities but that hasn’t stopped my dedication to education & service. Since my separation in 2006, I have earned a degree in Electronics Engineering.

I am currently the Chief of Philanthropic Development for Alpha Gamma Xi Military Sorority, Inc. Alpha Gamma Xi Military Sorority, Inc. (AGXi) is an international organization that was founded by military women, for military women.

Through membership in this phenomenal sorority, I am able to continue my philanthropic giving on a grander scale for the military community and also bask in the military sisterhood. I am also the Chief Information Officer for Social Butterflies Foundation, a nonprofit that focuses on aiding Lupus & Fibromyalgia survivors.

Alongside my charitable contributions to my local and veteran communities, I am also the Chief Visionary/Owner of B. Ayesha Inc. A corporation that features an online boutique (The BAye Hive Boutique), blog (The BAye Hive Blog), group (The BAye Hive Tribe), design (Bina Banks Designs) & BLACK F.L.Y. (Empowerment Brand).

I am also a Certified Resiliency and Life Direction Coach for chronically ill women (BAye Coaching Alliance). I’m also currently a Doctoral Candidate with a focus in Metaphysical Psychology.

I’m one of those people that have no clue what they want to be when they grow up (even though I’m 43). I had a stroke in 2007 and also suffer from several other chronic invisible illnesses. Going through so much, I just do what makes me happy.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. My life has been hectic since I was very young. My father passed when I was 2 years old and I’ve been fighting to live life my way every since. Business is definitely not smooth.

Being an entrepreneur can be a struggle all in itself. When I started in 2013, there weren’t very many outlets that would teach you how things are supposed to go, as there are today.

I’ve made a lot of mistakes. My health is not always the best and that also has made things harder. But with everything, you have to keep on pushing. Like I said before, I do what makes me happy regardless of the road it took/will take to get me there.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a freelance graphic design and digital marketer.

We use the latest design software and the best printing technology to create beautiful and timeless logos. We also use marketing strategies to help you create and manage your logo so it has the desired effect on your target audience.

Specialties: Print design (business cards, flyers, postcards, etc.) logo design, vector illustrations. I’m also able to make t-shirts and other promo material.

I’m most proud of being able to listen to my clients and produce the product that they not only want but need. What sets me apart from other designers is my focus on simplicity. The busy design does not equate to great design.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
To be honest, I don’t really know much about the city.

I haven’t been able to explore it since we’ve been here the way that I would like due to COVID. We had only been here about 6 months when COVID hit and I’m high-risk health wise so I stay in the house.

What I like least about the city is that I don’t know much about it but that will change soon, hopefully.
