Conversations with Kelly Kronbauer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Kronbauer.

Kelly, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I became a Career Ownership Coach after a long career in public education. After working directly with kids as a teacher, Principal, District Administrator, and Executive Director, I decided I was ready to leave public education and try my hand at coaching and business ownership. I was exhausted of the politics and bureaucracy involved with the public education space. I began coaching with a Career Ownership Coach and spent time learning about many things: Who was I now?ha What did I value? What are my strengths? What type of business could best meet my personal and professional goals. This was a valuable time of growth which led me to becoming a Career Coach myself.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think most people who have walked the “employment” route can understand the many challenges I faced over my first 30 years of work: politics, bureaucracy, jumping through hoops to get to the next level, feeling disrespected or unappreciated for my efforts. I also lost myself and my own purpose somewhere along the way as I was working hard to provide for my family and our future. I value education, but after (2) bachelor’s degrees, (1) master’s degree, and post-master’s certifications, I determined that additional university learning was not the answer to my future.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have the following education and experience:

B.S. Business Administration / Marketing (1992); I was employed as an Insurance Agent and Vocational Social Worker contracted with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR)

B.S. Education (Business Education (1995) , Marketing, Education, Diversified Education / Work-Based Learning, Career and Technical Education Certification, Special Education, and English. I taught in Washington State across all of these areas. My passion was in the areas of business education and careers. I believed that educating students around careers was sorely missing in our public schools. I taught many employment-based / business technology courses: Accounting, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Photography, Digital Tools, Computer Applications, Keyboarding, Supported Employment (Special Education), and Work-Based Learning / Mentorship Placements (both gen. ed. and Special Education) etc.

M.A. Educational Leadership (2010): I climbed the ladder into administration serving in the following roles: K-12 Principal, Special Education Director, Title I Director, State & Federal Program Director, Early Learning Director, and Highly Capable Director,

Pre-Doctoral Certificate: School Superintendent Certification (2015): I worked as Executive Director of Special Services and Operations.

I believe in education and the power it holds for all people. I have been involved with many learning initiatives involving educational service delivery, instruction and programming that I am proud of. I always had a very soft spot in my heart for students with disabilities and the power of work-based learning and work mentorships to help prepare students for the challenges of life. As a teacher, I built several school-based businesses that were operated by students. Students received real-life work experience and training to help them launch into the actual careers and to build a sense of social stability and acceptance.

After the challenges of leading public schools during and after Covid-19, I became very disillusioned with the polarization, community divisions and over-reach by our government into local education. I realized that I no longer felt the passion I had previously in my work and needed to find my passion again. There is where The Entrepreneur’s Source (TES) entered my life. I began coaching with an amazing guy named Dwayne Debose, who met me right where I was at and helped me pivot my career into something I never dreamt possible – Business Ownership! I still had a passion to serve and educate individuals but desired a new way to do it.

What matters most to you?
My faith matters the most to me in life. I am a strong believer that God determines my steps and empowers me to help others along the way. . I have a strong sense of ethics and values and I believe God has developed my “relational” skills to support people he puts in my path.

Pricing:

  • I don’t work with everyone who comes along, I require each person to have a genuine interest in learning and growing. Every client is different with a different path. My coaching is very experiential knowing that each client will come to “clarity” which means that some people will discover that they like and also what they do not like. Whether individuals move towards business ownership or away, both are good outcomes if the decision is based upon honest learning
  • I do earn income from my coaching. The Entrepreneur Source (TES) is affiliated with 300+ companies, corporations and brands that are seeking professionals to partner with them to do business. If a client determines that they desire to partner with a brand, the brand pays me a placement fee, much like a recruiter. or broker.
  • I am a coach, not a salesman. I do not sell anything. I use my skills to help my clients find the right outcome for them, as well as support my brands with quality business partners.
