Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaeo Draftpick.
Hi Jaeo, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up a fan of music like most kids but what was suppose to be a school trip to a record company is what led to me taking an interest to the music business. At that point in time I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be an artist but definitely knew at that moment I wanted business. Then gradually recording music with my cousin and what started out as a hobby slowly but surely became my lifestyle. Fast forward to 2016 receiving a record deal from a viral song about my hometown, which also turned into a clothing line which inevitably was catalyst four my next move where I was able to get a retail cannabis dispensary license. Now currently waiting for that retail dispensary to be opened while still actively doing music preparing to drop my second album titled Just A Guy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Therehave definitely been challenges along the way had to make a decision to stop running around in the street and focus on the opportunities that I had present. I’ve lost relationships, friendships, even family members through chasing my dreams and my goals of music.. So Smooth would be the total opposite of what this journey has been but it’s also made me everything I am today and has been worth it.

In Music I was always known for my catchy hooks and chorus’ the song that went viral is what most ppl know me from called 51631 it’s the combination of two area codes that Long Island has. 516 631 so when you put them together you get 51631. Something so simple was something that majority of ppl know me for. I’m most proud of the entrepreneur that I’ve become relying on my passion to provide in ways that a job never had. What sets me apart from others is when I hear the word no or somebody tells me I can’t do something. I’m gonna find a way to disappoint them..
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is that time has a funny way of working so you just make sure that you never stop working. Impatience I think good things take time so you have to be patient and wait for them.
