Conversations with Isabella Gaden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Gaden.

Isabella, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started 4th & Anchor simply as a hobby. One night I just decided to make a hat & then from there, I realized wait this is fun and I could really make this a business! I decided to hop on canva and start making a logo and it took off from there. I do local markets around town, in the Jax area! I love it so much! I’ve always had a passion for making things & not just that but helping other people feel their best in what they wear. I love to see peoples faces light up when they see a hat finished & done with their own unique style!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth. I am a full time college student so when things started taking off the hardest part for me was keeping up with orders! I have now figured out how to find my own groove and set certain days for certain social media platforms & days to complete orders! But it’s been fun over all and I couldn’t be more grateful for the ones who support me!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make Custom made trucker hats, Fanny packs & keychains! I’m know for the hats mainly and just really being able to take a large patch from a customer and really fill in the hat to make it what they want when they are having a little creativity block! I am proud of myself for just going for it and not holding back thinking about the what ifs. It has truly been a blessing to start 4th & Anchor. I have met so many beautiful people and it has really just been so so fun! I think what sets me apart is I tend to have an extra side, I always decorate my tent for the events/holiday. I mean at Christmas I literally displayed my hats on a 6 ft Christmas tree that I toted around from market to market! I just enjoy it so much & I hope those who stop by my tent do as well!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something people might not know about me is I balance so many things at once! I am the director of social development at my family’s non profit charity foundation, the Roy & Kathy Provost Foundation. I am a full time college student. I work full time and I somehow find time to balance it all. I have a slam packed schedule but I still schedule those markets & keep on going! I really love having so much to do as I never have to wonder what I’m doing this weekend because it is always something. I am just 20 years old and it is really such a blessing to have so much to do & to have the oppurtunity to meet so many people along the way through all of these things!
