Conversations with Buddy Force

Today we’d like to introduce you to Buddy Force.

Hello Buddy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up playing piano and drums and I started rapping as an early teen. I’m sonically influenced by Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Kendrick Lamar among others. I fully developed the Buddy Force persona by the time I was 20.

My most productive years were in 2016-2017. During that time, I was performing all over Florida and getting airtime in several clubs and radio stations. Currently, I have about 12 music videos released on my YouTube channel and I have 20+ songs on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other streaming platforms. I got to where I am today by constantly networking, going through some really tough times, and staying consistent with my craft.

My favorite type of music is the kind that puts you in a good mood, and the main ethos behind my music is to make people happy and help them through tough times. I love performing live and interacting with my fans, and this year my goal is to do more interviews, shows, and streams.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely been a tough journey so far. I’ve had to deal with sketchy promoters, beat scammers, and the egos of other artists, just to name a few. But like they say: Anything that’s worth it, won’t be easy. I keep telling myself that my dream life is outside my comfort zone!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Apart from rapping, I also paint, do photography, videography, and editing.

My fans love my abstract style of painting and I’ve sold quite a few of them. I learned about cameras and editing in high school and I found that I had a real knack for being behind and in front of the camera. Most people know me as a rapper, but I’ve been contacted by local businesses to create engaging videos for their social media.

I also do photoshoots for models and other artists. The fact that I have so many intertwining skills is what sets me apart.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think the music industry will be moving away from big labels and start leaning towards independent artists and companies. The only thing keeping the major labels in charge is the ability to control promotion with tons of money.

Pricing:

  • My paintings range from $35-$55
