Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Robison. Them and their team share their story with us below:
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Beth Robison has been painting her entire life. Her style has evolved to the abstract paintings and landscapes she creates today. Working primarily in acrylics, she draws inspiration from the warm, sunny skies of northern Florida. Her paintings evoke childhood memories exploring beaches, marshes, and woods near her home.
Bold beautiful colors and broad brush strokes are characteristic of her paintings. Her paintings hang in both private and corporate collections nationwide.
Most days you will find me painting in my home studio. Day trips to Amelia Island and St. Simons Island are always fulfilling. When I’m back in my studio I hope to convey all of the feelings and fill the canvas with color and happy thoughts.
I want one to feel joyful when viewing my art. The ultimate compliment for me is to be told “your paintings make me happy”.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a fairly smooth road with lots of painting. One day I realized I needed to address marketing. My paintings were spilling out of my studio into the living room and dining room.
I approached Anita’s Garden shop and Blend Indoor Outdoor. Christian hung some of my paintings, and they sold.
When I decided to have an Instagram account, I was contacted by art consultants, designers, and online galleries. It has made it possible for my art business to grow exponentially.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My art comes from a place in my heart of wonderful childhood memories. I loved walking in the woods with my father who pointed out a hidden quail nest and searching for sea glass on the beach with my mother. I remember the excitement of finding a lavender piece.
I wake up some mornings thinking about beautiful colors. It’s usually pretty color combinations for a marsh. After breakfast, I can’t wait to be in my studio creating.
I start a marsh painting sketching with Naples Yellow and my favorite brush. For an abstract painting, I usually start with Viridian or Phthalo blue in blocks for the composition.
Most days I paint for several hours in the morning and several hours after lunch.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Truly, one opportunity has led to the next, and this has been a very fulfilling and blessed path to be following. I have met so many wonderful people while pursuing my passion for creating works of art. I treasure the opportunity to be a small part of helping to create beautiful and meaningful homes for my collectors.
