Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandria Robinson.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
I lost my mom a little over a year ago and started blogging to process my emotions. I remember feeling so alone during this time because none of my friends knew how to navigate grief. I started my online blogging journey at 30flirtystriving.com to navigate my thoughts and experiences as a young adult dealing with life’s challenges.
My first few blog posts were self-help articles or guides I created to help get my life back together. I shared my content with friends and family and was shocked at how relatable and helpful my articles were to others! It was challenging to find my footing again after such a huge and devastating loss in my life, and I wanted to help others process their emotions as well!
Now, I am focusing on other parts of my identity and incorporating them into my blog. I want to advise others, not just in a “self-help” way, but in a “cool older sister” way. I believe so strongly in helping others, and 30flirtystriving.com allows me to help others who feel like they don’t have anyone to turn to and remind others that they aren’t alone.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a blog is a challenge at times! There are days when I am highly unmotivated. There are also days when doubt creeps in, and I begin to second guess everything I do in my blogging journey!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Currently, I’m an educator in St. John’s County. I love to help others, and it is my life’s goal and passion to help those in need. I co-founded a local charity give-back group: Girl Gang Gives Back Jax! This is a local group that focuses on helping our local Jacksonville community. I strongly believe in helping others, and I love every opportunity I get to give back locally.
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I think to get anywhere in life. You have to take risks. I always refer back to this quote, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone,” and it couldn’t be more true. Life without risks is a life of complacency. I’m not condoning life-risking actions by any means, but definitely put yourself out there! If you have always wanted to do something but have felt too scared or fear of judgment, do it anyways. Feel the fear but do it anyway! After my mom passed at such an incredibly young age made me realize that I needed to start living the life I wanted. We are never promised tomorrow. Who cares if people don’t like what you’re doing. Live for you. Leave a legacy behind for yourself. Make yourself proud.
