Garage Veterans was built on what I learned as a Marine Corps infantryman and squad leader during Operation Enduring and Operation Iraqi Freedom. That service shapes how we operate.
After I got home, I built a life here in Jacksonville. In 2018, my wife, my daughter, and I bought our first home. We hired a contractor for a two-day job that took two months. Communication was minimal, and the contractor only finished the work when I threatened not to pay.
That experience frustrated me because I extended trust to that contractor. I let them into my home and they met my family. Garage Veterans understands that dynamic and does not take it lightly. This is a relationship, not a transaction. Most homeowners find that out the hard way. We built Garage Veterans so you do not have to.
Garage Veterans is built on three things: proof of intention, proof of work, and a system of care. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We install overhead garage storage racks (fixed and motorized), slat wall systems, cabinets, shelving, and flooring for residential and commercial customers in Jacksonville and surrounding areas.
What we are most proud of is not the install – it is the relationship we build to get there. Our customers tell us we showed up when we said we would, communicated clearly, and treated their homes and families with respect and dignity.
I also serve as Research Coordinator for the Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience (FIBER) at the University of Florida, where I research how the spaces people live in shape their quality of life. That work is not separate from what we do here – it is exactly why we take it seriously.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Homeowners are not moving – they are investing in the home they already have. With prices and interest rates where they are, people are making intentional decisions about their existing space, and the garage is one of the last rooms they actually deal with – that is starting to change.
Over the next five to ten years, demand for aesthetic and functional garage spaces will grow as homeowners realize that maximizing every square foot of their home is not just about storage – it improves how they live every single day.
The bigger opportunity is with developers. Most builders hand over a blank garage and call it done. That is a missed opportunity for the homeowner from day one. We want to work directly with Jacksonville and surrounding area developers to build garage functionality into new construction so that residents move in with a complete, usable home. That is where Garage Veterans is going, and we are ready for it.
