Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Badida.
Hi Tammy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For as long as I can remember, I have always been blessed to have courageous and strong women in my life. Growing up watching my Mother and Grandmother overcome so much adversity in their own lives taught me how to survive when it was my turn to face my own challenges.
I spent 18 years growing up in a home witnessing my step-father emotionally, mentally, and physically abuse my mother.
Although I was never physically abused, the emotional toll left many scars on a young, impressionable girl who was searching for her own self-worth. I learned that through those scars, my faith in God, and the encouragement of the brave females that fought before me, not only was I worthy, but I was capable of being anything and everything I wanted.
And so…..Be Like a BABE was created from the desire of that young girl that wanted to encourage, inspire, and motivate other women that they are worthy, loved and more than capable of being anything and everything they want to be.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I thought the biggest obstacle would be starting a business during the pandemic but I was blown away by the reaction in the amount of women that really needed/wanted a brand like BABE during that time.
What the pandemic did create was delays, basically stopping or slowing things down like shipping, printing, and the mail.
But we overcame and we did it!!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our mission statement is Be Like a BABE was created to inspire, encourage, and motivate all women to believe that they can Be Anything… Be Everything they choose to be!
In the past couple of years, I have found that the success of this brand clearly is how ALL women identify with one or more of our Babes. Be like a Babe is way more than just inspirational apparel its about how it makes you feel when you wearing one of our uniquely created tees, tanks, or hats.
All of our Babes are created with their own unique strengths and qualities just like the women who wear them. Our Hero, Bold, Liberty, Fierce, Untamed, Beach, FLA, Spiritual, Camo, Boss, and Survivor Babe, remind us that we already possess that unbreakable courage and inner strength that it takes to succeed and survive.
One of my favorite things I ask women, “Is which Babe or Babes are you today? One day you may have to pull out that inner Hero Babe to conquer what’s in front of you, but the next day you may be feeling Bold or Untamed. Whatever you are feeling we want to encourage, inspire, and motivate you to be anything and everything you choose to be.
We encourage women to support other women and to know that we are better together. Women need other women in their lives to support them. There is nothing quite like an authentic bond between us ladies.
I am most proud of how this brand is continuing to do what it was created to do by encouraging and inspiring so many women. I receive weekly stories from women saying how putting on a Fierce Babe tee helped them feel like they could get up and slay the challenges they were facing or how they felt bolder to handle a situation because they had their Bold Babe hat on. One of the most inspiring stories is how our Survivor Babe tee gives a cancer patient that little extra motivation to push on. I am also honored to be able to donate a portion of each sale to Domestic Violence Awareness.
Personally what sets this brand apart from others is how so many women can identify with one or more of our awesome Babes and how it makes them feel when they wear it.
The “Be Like a Babe movement” has begun and we are excited to continually add more inspirational Babes to our growing inventory in hopes of encouraging all women to believe they can Be Anything…Be Everything they choose to be.
