Today we’d like to introduce you to Rana Dexter.
Hi Rana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After graduating from the University of North Florida with a degree in Marketing, I launched my career in outside sales, where I quickly found success. I had a knack for building relationships, identifying opportunities, and driving growth. At every company I worked with, I made a measurable impact — helping grow revenue, expand market presence, and elevate client experience.
But despite the wins, I found a recurring theme: just as things were gaining momentum, something would change. Commission structures would shift. Leadership would turn over. Promising opportunities would suddenly hit a ceiling and not by my doing.
In 2015, I decided it was time to take control of my future. I leaned into my strengths — communication, marketing, negotiation — and launched my career in real estate. It was a natural fit. Every client is different, every deal is unique, and success comes down to strategy, trust, and execution — all things I thrive on.
Since then, I’ve never looked back. Real estate has allowed me to create a business built on transparency, performance, and putting people first. Love what you do, it means the most!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I was born in the Middle East, and my early childhood was shaped by the chaos of the Iraq-Kuwait war. Almost overnight, everything changed. We lost our home, our school, and the sense of normalcy. We were forced to start over from scratch in a new place, with nothing familiar, and no guarantees.
The weight of that battle I truly believe took a toll on my mother’s health. She was my world — strong, loving, and always holding the family together, no matter how hard things got. But when I was just 17, I lost her to cancer. That moment changed the entire course of my life.
After her passing, I moved to Jacksonville, Florida to live with my aunt. It was another beginning — unfamiliar city, new family home, and a different culture. I had to grow up quickly, adapt fast, and figure out how to keep going in the face of loss.
Those early challenges shaped who I am today. They gave me grit, empathy, and a deep appreciation for stability, opportunity, and the power of resilience. I carry that with me in everything I do — in life, in business, and in every relationship I build.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a happy, social, and energetic kid – always full of life and curiosity. I loved being around people, making friends wherever I went, and finding joy in even the smallest moments. That natural energy, optimism, and love for connection has always been a big part of who I am.
Even through life’s challenges and changes, that core part of me never left. I still approach every day with a positive mindset, a big heart, and a genuine desire to connect with others. Whether it’s helping someone find their perfect home or just being a supportive voice during a big life decision, I bring the same enthusiasm and compassion I always have.
