Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Roesler.
Hi Peter, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Honestly? I started Small Business SEO to replace an asshole customer that ate up all my time.
I was running white-label work for agencies in Jacksonville. One large local ad agency was paying me 15k a month. Looked like a dream client on paper. In reality he was a nightmare. Constant hand holding. Argued every decision. Then I did my annual audit and found out he’d been falsifying invoices. Marking things paid that weren’t. By the end he owed me 30k. So I fired him. Walked into a room with his team, laid it out, demanded my money, and left. Then it hit me driving home. I just cut my biggest revenue stream and payroll was next week.
That night I started researching how to replace the money. And I realized my whole industry was doing it wrong. Everybody charging 5 to 10 grand a month, locking people in, delivering nothing. So I did the opposite. Priced us under 500 bucks. Came in hot.
First 60 days were brutal. Tons of clicks, almost no closings. Nobody believed the price was real. Then around day 50 something shifted. People started signing up. Then more. We hit 12 to 14 signups a day and were doing 100k a month within a few months.
That was 2009. Still at it. 25 years in marketing now, one obsession the whole time. Been grinding since day one. That’s the whole story.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth? Hell no. Not even close.
The whole thing started from getting screwed. A client owed me 30k and I had to fire him with payroll a week away. So right out of the gate I was scrambling.
Then I came in hot. Priced us way under everybody else. The other agencies in my space lost their minds. We were taking their customers. So they flagged our Facebook accounts. Reported our ads. Got us suspended. Some accounts shut down permanently. They hit us hard.
The first 60 days nearly broke me. Tons of traffic, tons of clicks, almost nobody buying. People couldn’t believe the price was real. They were so used to getting charged 5k for the same thing that 500 bucks felt like a scam to them. Brutal.
Then I got sued. I’m watching an Adam Sandler movie with my wife and there’s a knock on the door. Guy hands me papers. You’ve been served. Old boss came after me over a one page noncompete. He stapled a second page to it and tried to say it was always two pages. Different fonts. Staple wasn’t even on the first page. Total BS. That thing hung over my head for two and a half years before it got dismissed. Dismissed with prejudice, which means he could never come at me again.
Here’s what I learned. The BS is coming. That’s not a maybe. That’s a guarantee. Lawsuits. Bad press. People coming after you for no reason. You don’t quit. You stay calm. You figure out a solution. You keep moving.
I didn’t sit around getting eaten up by any of it. I just kept working. Kept growing. And here I am.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The thing I want your readers to know about is the $100k Site. It’s the last website you’ll ever need.
Here’s the backstory. For six months I grinded. 4 AM wake up. Grind till midnight. Repeat. No ROI for half a year. Lots of time and money spent. But every day I got better. Faster. Smarter. I was building the best websites I’ve ever built in 25 years.
Why grind that hard with no payoff? Because I saw where the whole game was going. Bob’s not typing long searches into Google anymore. He’s asking AI. And the brands that built their sites for that win the next decade. The ones playing the old game get left behind.
So that’s what the $100k Site is. A custom built, Claude powered, conversion optimized growth machine. 25 years of foundation plus AI doing everything. It’s lightning fast. It’s interactive. It can do anything. Yes anything. It ranks on Google and it gets cited by AI. You’ll have the coolest website in your market.
And we do it in 11 days. We handle everything. You don’t lift a finger.
Here’s the part nobody else does. You see it before you buy it. Take a test drive. Most agencies make you pay first and pray. We let you drive the thing first. That’s the whole David vs Goliath move. We’re not scared to show our work because the work is so damn good they can’t ignore it.
The demand is already moving. Not because I’m selling people. Because the sites speak for themselves. Test drive one at smallbusiness-seo.com/test-drive.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Yeah. One thing.
You don’t need permission and you don’t need to be perfect. You just need to start and you need to put in the reps.
When I started I got 100 no’s. I built 10 websites when nobody asked me to. I grinded six months with zero ROI. I got sued for two and a half years. None of it stopped me because I never expected smooth. The BS is coming. That’s a guarantee. The only thing that matters is you keep moving through it.
Most businesses die because the owner gives up too early. Or copies what everyone else does. Or plays small because going big feels scary. Don’t be that guy. Be yourself. Stand for something. Be a little weird on purpose. Then deliver. 110% of the time.
And do me one favor. Don’t half ass it. Whatever you’re building, go all in or stay out. There’s no in between that works.
That’s the whole thing. Balls Out. Go big or go broke.
If any of this hit home, the book is Balls Out Marketing and you can find me @TheSEOGodfather. Now go build something only you can build.
