Community Highlights: Meet Lindsey Ardmore of Bronzey Tanning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Ardmore.

Hi Lindsey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Lindsey, the the founder of Bronzey—North Central Florida’s Favorite Place to Get Naked. What started from tanning in my in-home office, has grown into a cult-loved brand known for flawless spray tans, bold energy, and an experience you can’t find anywhere else. We have two locations: our flagship in Ocala and a second location in Butler Plaza in Gainesville. I’ve always believed a simple service could become an elevated experience—and I built a brand that proves it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh my goodness! It has not been smooth at all. I think anything worth doing takes effort, attention, and a lot of sacrifice and Bronzey has been no different. I’m sure people look at our success (we added a second location 7 months after the first) and think it’s all been handed to me, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Bronzey is a brand that defies expectations because that’s how she’s been intentionally built. From being diagnosed with breast cancer 3 months into business, to struggles with staffing and scheduling, to dealing with online bullies…it hasn’t been an easy road at all!

We’ve been impressed with Bronzey Tanning, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart is that we’ve turned a quick beauty service into a fully elevated experience—from our signature techniques and high-end products to the environment we’ve created for our clients. Bronzey is known for delivering consistent, natural-looking results while also building a strong sense of community within our spaces.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how we’ve grown into more than just a service—we’ve built a culture. Our clients don’t just come in for a tan, they come for the confidence, the connection, and the experience. From flawless results to a space that feels welcoming, empowering, and a little bit addictive, Bronzey has become a go-to for women who want to look good and feel even better.

I want readers to know that Bronzey is about raising the standard in the sunless industry while creating a space where people feel seen, confident, and taken care of. You’ll leave with a new best friend!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I view risk as a necessary part of building anything meaningful. It’s also apart of the job for me.
The key for me is making sure it’s informed risk—not impulsive, but not overly cautious either. I think a lot of people wait until something feels “safe,” and in business, that moment honestly never comes.

Expanding into a second location was a defining moment for me. It required capital, operational changes, and confidence in my ability to replicate what I had built. There were variables I couldn’t control, but I focused on what I could—systems, branding, and client experience.

I think risk becomes less intimidating when you have strong fundamentals. You’re not just hoping it works—you’re executing on something you’ve already proven. That mindset has allowed me to grow quickly while still being intentional with every move.
