Hi Isabela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into pet sitting began with my love for animals and helping neighbors with their pets while they were away. As I gained more experience, I realized how much I enjoyed caring for animals and decided to turn my passion into a full-time business. Wags and Whiskers Pet Services was born from this love, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience to provide care and companionship to pets in my community.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely isn’t easy balancing both a full-time job and a part-time job on the weekends while trying to grow Wags and Whiskers. Time management has become crucial, and I’ve had to get really good at planning out my days. There’s been moments when I’ve felt overwhelmed, but my love for my craft and the vision I have for my business has kept me going. I know that if I stay consistent, it will pay off in the long run. Seeing the pets happy and receiving positive feedback from their owners really keeps me motivated, even during the tough times.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Wags and Whiskers Pet Services is all about providing reliable, compassionate care for pets in the community. We offer a wide range of services, including pet sitting, dog walking, and even pet party planning for special occasions like birthdays or adoption anniversaries. We also offer cat-specific services, ensuring that all pets receive personalized care and attention. Our goal is to treat every pet like family, creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for them while their owners are away.

What sets us apart is our dedication to going above and beyond. In addition to our specialized services, we recently launched a merchandise line, including Wags and Whiskers T-shirts, which allows our clients and supporters to represent our brand. It’s been exciting to see the community come together and show their love for what we do.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
My goal in the next 5-10 years is to own land and open a multiroomed boarding facility with an open field and a animal spa for both dogs and cats, creating a space where pets can enjoy a true vacation experience while their owners are away. This facility would feature expansive play areas for pets to run and play, as well as luxurious spa treatments to keep them relaxed and pampered. What sets Wags and Whiskers apart is our ambition to go beyond basic pet care. We plan to integrate cutting-edge technology, like live video feeds so owners can check in on their pets in real-time, and automated feeding systems tailored to each pet’s specific dietary needs.

In the future, I want to offer specialized care for pets with medical conditions or elderly animals by partnering with veterinary professionals. Additionally, I envision creating a “Pet Parent Lounge” where owners can relax, network with other pet lovers and even spend time with their pets in a comforting, community-oriented environment.

Ultimately, Wags and Whiskers will offer not just a service but a full experience, combining top-tier care with innovation and a personal touch. My vision is to lead the way in redefining pet care, providing an environment where pets are safe, happy, and well cared for and where owners have complete peace of mind.
