Hi Beth, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Go Cozy was started by myself Beth Jones shortly after I graduated from college. I started Go Cozy to express my passions in life (being comfy cozy always/clothing/art/home decor) all in one place. To be able to share my ideas and products and validate them through sales and support is everything to me. Connecting with my brand’s market (mainly women aged 18-35) is extremely rewarding and makes my career an everyday fun adventure.
When Go Cozy first started, I was making and selling pre-made and custom keychains that create that warm cozy feeling inside that you get. You know what feeling I’m talking about. I did it all, including product development, mailing orders, social media, marketing, the list could go on and on. From there, it has grown into so much more. We still aim to create that warm cozy feeling with every product made and sold; however, our product lines have expanded. We now offer apparel, home decor, accessories, and art prints. We have truly transformed into what I like to categorize my business as, a lifestyle retail shop! Working with a partnered manufacturer to ensure quality product development, timely shipping, and customer service assistance was an essential turning point for Go Cozy. Additionally, I have been able to outsource Go Cozy’s social media to my amazing part-time employee, Michelle Blackmon.
Go Cozy, like every other business, has a responsibility to society. There is always room for business improvement, but I am thrilled to share that we are sustainable and use eco-friendly fabrics as much as possible. We also make and sell products where the profits are donated to a charity. For example, on Earth Day 2022, we created an original earth day design, put it on a comfy tee, and then donated the profits to the earth day network.
Of course, I have faced many obstacles along the way. For example, I am learning how to code and build Go Cozy’s website, smoothing out supply chain issues, and keeping to a strict budget. Along the way, I have also encountered many blessings. For example, making sales, collaborating with influencers, and getting amazing exposure opportunities like this article.
Go Cozy recently hit its first anniversary (July 2022), and I can truly say I am so proud of how our brand has grown. I love creating the art and designs that go onto products. From here, you can expect Go Cozy to offer new products on our site, shopgocozy.com. I am also eager to continue collaborating with influencers and loyal customers to help grow the brand even more. I have many more plans; however, you will have to follow along to see what they are and when they are coming.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road to where GO COZY is today. Some mistakes have cost me money, valuable time, sleepless nights, or all three; I have learned new skills like website coding and utilizing business social media pages best. I have had people say they are interested in collaborating or working together, then ghost us in the middle of the collaboration. Recovering from those losses is never enjoyable.
Also, when I realized that I couldn’t do and be everything for the business, I knew I needed to outsource some assistance. Finding and partnering with a manufacturer took months. Hours of research, experience, and trail runs were invested in getting a quality manufacturer that didn’t eat up all my profits.
My biggest struggle was getting my Facebook account hacked because I have taken a heavy social media approach to my marketing. This was defeating. I am sure most people know that Facebook is owned by Meta, which Instagram also falls under. I have a social media shop available through meta, which means it was down the entire time. I was not able to get back to customers who were reaching out. The whole thing was a nightmare and forced me to pivot. I have since then recovered the account, increased security regarding everything business/Go Cozy related, and increased exploration of new ways to market my business and stay connected to current customers.

Go Cozy is known for our T-shirts and hoodies! Not only are they high quality, soft, and comfortable, but we also make all of the product designs, and art put onto the product. We have many ‘girly’ chats on social media to create a tight-knit community with our market. We also are known to offer surprise discounts, giveaways, and exciting collaborations. I am proud to say how socially responsible I aim to have my business be. We make and sell products sustainably. We do not host large inventory amounts resulting in product waste. We use recyclable packing and minimal packing materials to keep the product intact in shipping and continuously source eco-friendly fabrics. Business partnerships are done digitally to reduce paper product waste. Hosting fundraisers for needy people through my business has also been rewarding.
Go Cozy could always be better, so I am open to learning new ideas and approaches to run my business. As previously mentioned, we mainly cater to women aged 18-35; however, all of our products are indeed unisex (excluding women’s crop tops). We are also size inclusive with sizing from extra small to 5XL. I want all of Go Cozy’s customers to feel heard and served. Lastly, I will say how excited I am for future Go Cozy product releases, collaborations, and some secret special surprises coming to shopgocozy.com this business year.

My favorite part of Jacksonville is the people I have met and befriended along the way. I love spending the day in the sunshine at the beach, visiting the zoo, and finding a local restaurant to enjoy a big dinner.
