Check Out Tasha Robinson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha Robinson.

Hi Tasha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started sewing and creating as early as the age of 5. I remember sewing alongside both my mother and grandmother who instilled in me the love of fashion. Growing up I have always been short and small so in high school, I would create my own clothes to wear to school sometimes even the day before school. I believe that’s when my dream of having my own fashion line began. In 1995 after graduating from High School I joined the military, where my love for sewing and designing took a back seat in order to be successful in the Marine Corps and to serve my country. But the dream to be a fashion designer never died. The Marine Corps did teach me leadership skills that I use now in my business and my life overall. After 20 years of service, I retired from the service, and my vision of starting a clothing line started to take shape and AT Once Designs started to come into view.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the beginning, all I knew about fashion was just making clothes that fit me. Over time, I learned more about all body types and what looks good for everyone. I also learned about the fashion industry as a whole. From different types of models, the runway, magazine and print models, dealing with different shows and events. After I started my line I was honored to showcase my second fashion line at New York Fashion Week. Everything was moving along well until the world was hit with the pandemic. All of the shows and designs I had planned to make for the upcoming prom season were canceled. To help in the efforts of the mask shortages in the beginning I began to make face masks and donate them around the world to help to protect healthcare workers. The news got out and everyone around the world started to contact me to buy a face mask. The orders were in masses, so much that I had to create a website to help track orders coming in. I’m grateful that God had made a way for my business even in the pandemic.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have always said that being a designer was being an artist. My fashion line AT ONCE Designs has shown in NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, and has been featured and published in fashion magazines. My style is both ready-to-wear and couture! Currently, I’m being sought out by many for my art and designs!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I’m grateful for my skill sets that go back as far as my youth but most importantly the leadership traits I learned while serving in the military. I know that I’m also a people person and don’t mind getting to know others while networking. This year I’m honored to be able to host my very first fashion this July in the heart of Jacksonville on July 23rd at Sturgeon City.
