Today we’d like to introduce you to Sunni Myers
Hi Sunni, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Gogh Create was created by a local Jacksonville artist and art teacher by the name of Sunni Myers who saw a need in the community for people of all ages to create art for art’s sake. She uses her skills as an artist to engage participants and encourage them to create something of their own! We all have the desire and love to create- let’s enjoy making art and discovering our creative process together! With a customizable approach for all ages, you will be provided with the resources to help you create something and find joy!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have slowly built my brand by partnering with other local businesses in the Jacksonville area to bring art to different areas and people who might not have had access to art instruction. I took a bit of break in 2020 during COVID, but came back shortly after because I saw the need more than ever for people to have a creative outlet. In 2022 I started to add more instructors and I was able to expand to new locations including offering more summer camp options by partnering with CORK art studios.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am happy to give people options to create in different ways. Every other month we switch our materials and themes that we offer for art making. This allows for people to explore new and different techniques for making art. We also don’t do paint along classes, we bring the materials and let our participants bring the inspiration and ideas on what they want to create.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe it has been hard work and personal connections that have helped my business to grow. I’m grateful for the small business and art community in Jacksonville and that I can be a part of it in my own way and support others.
