Check Out Quinnton Jordan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quinnton Jordan.

Hi Quinnton, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started BK clothing back in 2015, it was a day when I realized that I could do better than clocking into someone’s nine to five and becoming My own Boss. I knew I loved to make shirts and had a passion for being creative but I didn’t know where to start, so I began to read and learn about the fashion industry and understood that it was a tough and long road ahead of me but I was determined to be my own boss.

So the first thing I had to do was learn how to sell a shirt, well even before then I had to learn how to make a shirt so I reached out to many local printers and no one was willing to help a startup business, I even reached out to someone I knew from childhood when I didn’t have any money, well not enough to purchase a big order but enough to start with maybe about five shirts well long story short they turned me down by telling me that they couldn’t help me unless I ordered 3,000 shirts.

So, I eventually found someone that would help me and I purchased a 100% cotton shirt and had someone put my logo on it. I was able to sell that shirt for $25 and I actually sold that shirt before I even had the shirt made but this is the funny part about it, once I shipped the shirt I lost $15 because it cost me $35 to ship at that time. That’s before I knew anything about the business, shipping, overhead, etc.

But I’m happy to say that I’m still standing strong even though I’m nowhere near where I would love to be I believe I have a brand that can reach greater heights. Recently BK clothing started a fishing brand which is called REEL gangsters fishing and you can find that on Instagram and Facebook and that’s growing pretty fast. So the future is really bright.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has its smooth and rough times some of the struggles I face are staying consistent when orders are low, being positive when no one really supports you because they don’t really know who you are, and not having too much popularity because I believe popularity is what sells nowadays over quality.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are a screen printing brand which also sells it’s on retail clothing. I’m known for fearLESS fashion and I’m proud of my supporters that I do have as well as my wife, church and family that has stuck behind me through it all.

What sets me apart from others is that I’m original, I don’t follow trends nor do I try to keep up with them, I just remain original and classic the two things that this world has left behind but the same two things that keep this world going.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
My favorite book is the king James bible. It is my life and keeps me positive, focused, and hopeful for the greater ahead. I also love listening to Eric Thomas because of his passion and positive outlook. I love speaking, so hopefully one day, I can be a motivational speaker as well.
