From Hustle to Health: Why I Built Jax Juice Bar
Most businesses start with a strategy. Mine started with a lifetime of watching people connect over food.
I grew up in a family where the restaurant wasn’t just a workplace—it was part of who we were. From a young age, I saw firsthand that serving people is never just about what’s on the plate. It’s about how you make someone feel. Kitchens taught me discipline. Customers taught me humility. And hospitality taught me that when you truly care about people, they can tell.
As I built my own professional path over the years, I began noticing something about the world around me. Life was moving faster. People were juggling more responsibilities, carrying more stress, and trying harder than ever to take care of their health. Yet despite that effort, genuinely healthy options that were convenient, enjoyable, and consistent were surprisingly hard to find. That realization stayed with me. It wasn’t just an observation—it felt like a responsibility.
That’s where the idea for Jax Juice Bar came from.
I didn’t start this business because it was trendy. I started it because I believed there was a real need. I wanted to create a place where health didn’t feel intimidating, where nutritious choices actually tasted good, and where every customer felt welcomed the same way I was taught to welcome guests growing up.
Building it wasn’t easy. There were long nights testing recipes, early mornings reviewing sourcing options, and plenty of moments where I had to step back and ask myself if I was truly creating something worthwhile. Every decision came down to one question: Will this genuinely make someone’s day better? If the answer wasn’t yes, it wasn’t good enough.
I’ve always believed that strong businesses aren’t built by chasing quick wins. They’re built by earning trust. That’s why my focus has never been on shortcuts or hype. It’s been on consistency, honesty, and treating every customer with respect. One smoothie at a time. One conversation at a time. One relationship at a time.
Being located inside a fitness center is a blessing because I’m surrounded by people who are already committed to improving themselves. But I’ve always made it clear—this place isn’t just for gym-goers. It’s for anyone who wants something better for their body and their day. Wellness shouldn’t feel exclusive. It should feel accessible.
When people ask me what success looks like, I don’t talk about numbers first. I think about the regular who tells me they have more energy now. The parent who says their child finally enjoys something healthy. The customer who walks in exhausted and walks out smiling. Those moments mean more to me than any metric.
To me, that’s the real return.
Jax Juice Bar is more than a business. It’s a reflection of everything I was taught growing up—old-school values, genuine service, and pride in doing things the right way. My goal moving forward is simple: keep improving, keep serving, and keep proving that when you build something with sincerity and purpose, people feel it.
Because long after someone forgets what they ordered, they’ll always remember how they were treated.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Owning a restaurant is never a smooth road. Its a journey. You are always faced with adversity one way or another. Its how you overcome and move forward is the key to success. From the concept to the location, to sourcing the ingredients to pricing and being competitive is the initial struggles. Later comes how to keep improving the menu to make the customer smile, enjoy and come back. So this journey is never a smooth one but that is what makes this fascinating to me. Every customer taught me something new that I carry on till today. Always tweaking, and always improving.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I went to school for Aerospace engineer at great school and chose to own a small Juice Bar business. That should explain, that I do this not for the profits but self fulfillment. What I learned from my house growing up and in my culture, how food is not just to fill your belly; it is fill your heart with warmth and Joy. Its from the passion, the care, the kindness and discipline making the food and sharing it creates this amazing experience that you always remember. I was lucky that I was able to learn it from my Mom, Dad and Grandad. When you come to Jax juice bar you are not a customer or a client; You are a family.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I have said a lot in the previous questions. I think I have explained me enough.
